Are you forgetful? Or do you have the mind of a steel trap?

I used to be the latter, but oy not anymore.

Example: I have a lock on my gym bag. I've opened it at least 100 times going to the gym/swimming over the last 2 years. But, I haven't gone in a few months and I can't for the LIFE of me remember the combination. It's up there somewhere, I just can't shake it out. To make matters worse, I sat down last night and tried 50 different combinations and actually got it open... but I have no idea what numbers I used and I can't get it open again. It is driving me nuts. My husband says just buy a new one and save my sanity. A) I'm not gonna remember that one, either. B) I JUST HAD THIS OPEN. I swear I'm even more annoyed now than when it was stuck on my bag.

i was always that way with numbers ... have to have things written down as a back up when my numerical memory fails me, which is often. i would set the lock down for awhile. when you least expect it, it will come back to you.

as for everything else ... it is hit and miss. some things i can remember really well ... other things no. i blame it on age!

I am the same. I used to have such a great memory and now I can't remember two things for two minutes! I'll remember something I need at the grocery store while I'm in the parking lot and by the time I get in the store I'll have forgotten what it was. I tell my hubby and kids, if they want something from the store, they better write it on my list or they won't get it!

UPDATE: I got the lock open and emailed the combination to myself and to my husband. Most frustrating ever. LOL

I was always good at remembering numbers and dates/appointments but I have found since the chemo (chemo brain is real) I have to rely on the calendar in my phone. I even have to check it more than once in a day....it's been 8 years since the chemo and the fuzziness hasn't gone away.

Sigh, I'm always forgetting things or getting distracted. I can "laser focus" on something and the hours fly by though (usually something scrapping related) but I can forget why I got up from my desk after taking 3 steps rofl! I'm setting up a planner for 2015 and putting as much stuff in there now as I can... I'm going to keep it out on my desk (out from under any clutter!) at all times! Maybe that will help me this coming year ;)

My brain is all in my Filofax now. If I had to remember anything without it, well, that picture ain't pretty.

One time, I was out to dinner with friends and I went to pay for my meal. In Denmark, instead of signing you enter a PIN. I entered my PIN and it said it was wrong. What?! I tried it again. What?! I got super flustered and tried it a bunch of times and it kept getting rejected. My friend eventually paid for it and I mobile paid her to cover it. About an hour later, it occurred to me I had been entering my old PIN from like five years before. What the heck?! Just randomly my brain decided to go back in time. I didn't even realize I knew that PIN anymore. Humans. We are WEIRD.
