Pad Patter: 12/2: Green thumb?

I love to have fresh herbs and wherever we move I usually end up planting about 8 herbs. Most of them survive but I would not say I have a green thumb.

We have a garden in the summer with tomatoes, peppers, cucumber, zuchini, green and yellow beans, and sugar peas!

As far as being a green thumb with plants/flowers - NOT AT ALL!!! I kill everything!!!!

This was my first year gardening and I had so much fun! I grew tomatoes, eggplant, green & red bell peppers, some herbs and cucumbers. I had tomatoes up until late November! I also grew some really lovely sunflowers - until some squirrels came along and decapitated them!

We had corn this past summer. But i have planted corn, squash, zuchinni, tomatoes, chili, and they do pretty good. I even get weeds to grow too ehheheh.

DH tells everyone i have a black thumb. he was going to buy me some mums for fall this year, but decided i'd just kill them anyway. :/

I am planning on having my own garden for the very first time next spring/summer. DD will be almost 3 by then, so I think she will enjoy the process, too. With how expensive fruits & veggies are, it seems like a shame to NOT have a garden.

As for flowers... nah. I'd love to be able to DESIGN some flower gardens around the place if I could hire someone to maintain them. Getting all dirty and hot outside with nothing to show for it (at least I can EAT the veggies!)... no thanks.

Total green thumb here. We have flower gardens, a special butterfly garden, and a herb/veggie garden in addition to our regular landscaping. My littlest one is also an avid green thumb and it's something we really enjoy doing together. I get it from my dad - he's an awesome gardener!

I try. . . does that count?! I've been successful with tomatoes and herbs. I love having fresh tomatoes for sandwiches and my mom and I usually can them in the fall. I also plant lots of flowers in the spring. . . hanging baskets and pots on my porch. I love to do that!

DH tells me I've got a Black Thumb! I swear I can kill a cactus in the desert! LOL. I have successfully kept an elephant ear plant going for 2 years now so there is hope for me.

I love gardening in the summer - we grow tomatoes, green beans, and squash. We always try something new each year as well (pumpkins, watermellon, etc.). I like fresh herbs as well so we grow cilantro, basil, and mint. Other than that, I cannot keep an inside plant alive because my cats eat them!
