Do you see movies in theaters? Watch them at home?

I'm not really a movie person. It's hard for me to watch an entire one. I either can't pay attention the whole time, or if I do try to focus, I fall asleep. :giggle

We did see LoTR in theaters on Christmas Day last year, and that was a hit, so we'll probably do that again (I think there's another one coming out soon?). I see maybe 2 a year in the theatre and watch 1-2 more per year at home. My poor dh, he loves movies.

we go to the movies once in a while, it has to be a movie we both really want to see (the boy and I). Last movie we went to see in the theater was 22 Jump Street and we saw Let's Be Cops--found both funny.

For my birthday that is what I always want a trip to the movies.....it's not about the movie it's about him spending time with me in the same room, conversing and no phone, lol.

I tend to watch them more at home.

My hubby and I have watched movies for years. Every weekend we would watch two or three. It even got to the point that we wouldn't know which movies to rent at Blockbuster since we'd literally seen them all. But when blockbuster closed down, we kind of stopped watching that many movies. We mostly binge watch tv series. We still love watching movies with the boys though. We usually have movie nights on Friday nights. :)

We go to the movie theater about 3 times a year, one of those times always being on Christmas Day (it's kind of a tradition now for us since all of our parties are Christmas Eve and before)! We generally watch a movie from RedBox on Sunday nights - also has been a tradition - after our pizza and Shark Tank with the kids. Lately I have been struggling with finding good quality movies to rent, so the last two weekends we haven't watched any.

I love the movie theater. Wish we could get there more but with 5 kids it's just to expensive to go as much as we would like to.

When we can get the ILs to take the girls, we usually go to a movie for a date night. We took the girls to see Planes, which they loved, but we usually watch at home so we can pause and cuddle and eat popcorn that wasn't 10 dollars and so forth. Pre-kids, we went to movies soooooo much, but actually watching at home is pretty great too. Sometimes I will use blankets to "fort" up the bottom bunk of the girls' bed and turn out the lights and call it a "theater". Pop some popcorn and voila! They go nuts for it.

we have a dollar theater nearby where we like to go for family nights-- we went last week to see the Maze Runner and the week before that for The Giver. The movies are old enough that they are not in the regular theater anymore, but still aren't out on DVD yet. We also do Redbox most Fridays, and have Netflix and Amazon Prime for tv series binging. There
is a very nice movie theater here in town where you pick out which seat you want when you buy your ticket and they have sushi and wine-- I like to go there for movie premieres with friends--we've done all the Twilight and Hunger Games movies there. It is too expensive to just go there every week though!

I always forget that it's not normal to pick your seats at purchase in the US, and then I go to a movie when I'm there and it ticks me off. LOL I can't say that wine and sushi are normal at the movies, though. That would be awesome.

I do love to go to movies, but we don't go a ton. We did see Mockingjay last week and loved it!
I am with Renee and we have gotten sucked into binge watching tv shows.

We go to quite a few kids movies in the summertime because we have a pretty nice cheap theatre near us and that makes it afforable to go. Otherwise my hubby and I will go to maybe 2-3 movies in a year... usually the ones that are made from books that I've read. :)

We easily watch three or four movies or long TV shows together a week at home, and I guess we go to the cinema 5 or 6 times a year. I like films, but Nick LOVES them :)

We have a home theatre set up but still love going to the movies. Best night I've had in ages is taking my 22yo son , his girlfriend and his best friend to a Bollywood movie (Happy New Year - highly recommended) - just the best fun! They are still quoting it weeks later and are now looking forward to the next one out.

im the same i havent got the attention span and if i cant get into the film within minutes ill get my self comfortable and go to sleep

We usually go to 2-3 movies per year at the theater - one per year with hubby (if there is a LoTR release - the new/last one releases on the 17th so we have a date night) and the others are me and the kids - this year, we saw the Lego movie and we just saw Big Hero 6 before Thanksgiving. Oh, and I had a bonus movie this year with my friends when Moms' Night Out came out. But it definitely has to be something everyone that is going really wants to see to dish out the $ to go!

If I don't watch them in the theater, then I probably won't see it. And, unfortunately, I don't get to go too often. There are several I really want to see this month, but can't figure out how to make it happen! Exodus, Mockingjay, Unbroken, Into the Woods, and Annie.

We go to movies in a theater as a family about once every couple of months. Most recently we saw Big Hero 6. I think before that was Guardians of the Galaxy. Both terrific! :)

We will sometimes do family movie nights at home, which I enjoy, but I have a hard time sitting through them. I'm always thinking about the 70 million other things I should be doing. :p

DH is a big movie fan and has something on almost all the time. He likes everything from the most violent action flicks to cheesy Hallmark/Lifetime Christmas movies, so he can find something to watch pretty much any time. And he will watch his favorites over and over, so there a lot of those that I've seen all the bits and pieces of, but at different times and not in order. Some of them are really hard to make sense of that way! :giggle
