How many of you travelled for the Thanksgiving holiday? How many will travel for Christmas? I'll be making my way back home in a little bit and I'm dreading the ride. It was worth it to relax and enjoy family!

We didn't and we won't be for Christmas either. Chris' family lives a block away and we always hang with them on holidays. I do have a bit of family a few hours away, but I do not drive long distances in winter, period. I can't stand icy roads - to me it seems like a death wish! I would much rather travel when the weather is nice to see everyone :)

We did travel this year for Thanksgiving and while I did enjoy seeing family it was just to hard to do with 4 kids. We always go home for Christmas and we will again this year but I think we will skip the next few Thanksgivings again. All of our family is in one spot so when we go home it is never a restful time because we have so many people to see in such a short amount of time.

We didn't go anywhere for Thanksgiving and we won't for Christmas either. We usually go home about every other year for Christmas, and on the other years we visit some other time during the year (we went at the end of October this year). I don't even remember the last time we traveled for Thanksgiving.

We didn't travel for Thanksgiving, but I did take my son the weekend before to go see his cousins. We will travel for Christmas. But my husband is so busy with work, I don't know how long we will get to stay. All of our family is in one city, just 2 hours away by car, so it's a trip we can do fairly often.

We travel every other Thanksgiving. Not this year.

We will be traveling for my family's Christmas the last weekend in December. It's only 2.5 hours, but there's almost always snow. Hubs works for UPS and even though he's not on the floor, it's still obviously his busy season, so that was the only weekend he could get away. Coordinating my family's Christmas with when my sister does have her stepson and around the other 3 or 4 Christmases her husband's side has and around my and Hubs' work schedules is always a gigantic hassle.

We didn't have to travel. My parents live 8 miles away, so my Sister and her family have to travel to us. Ha ha! :) Same deal for Christmas. It's the best!

I have had to work on Christmas day for the last 6 years. This year it falls on my "weekend" so I'm flying home Christmas morning! It will be so fun to spend a Christmas with family again!

This is totally me too! I love that I don't have to travel for the holidays, as I am not a very good traveler!

My entire family are at least 5 hours away, and a few even further. The last 2 years we've stayed home as the weather wasn't great for making the trip. This year DH only has a few days over the holidays so we'll make the drive the weekend before Christmas and then he'll come back. I'll stay and spend a week or so. My brother and girlfriend will be travelling home as well and have an 8 hour journey. I haven't seen them since July so I'm really looking forward to that. The drive is long but we travel "home" a few times a year and kind of enjoy the mini roadtrip together.

I've been lucky the past 9 years or so, Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve with extended family is always here at my house. Christmas Day with just my dad, stepmom and my kids is here too.

The farthest I go is to my best friends for dinner on Christmas Day about 2.5 miles away.

We are travelling over Christmas in a big way. We leave KL Dec 19 and get back home in Australia on Jan 24, via Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam and Hong Kong. I can't wait, but don't want to leave Malaysia yet.

We didn't travel for Thanksgiving. We will be traveling for Christmas though, and I'm very much looking forward to it!

We are traveling up to Noosa for Boxing Day to visit family but that is the sum total of our Christmas travel plans :) I love to stay home at Christmas!

we traveled from Thanksgiving and are going nowhere. ever.again.

j/k - we had an awesome vacation. no plans for Christmas travel - maybe some day or overnight trips over the few weeks off, but that's it. and that's all fine.by.me.

We don't travel as a family... ever.
Hubby travels with his job and spends most of his week in his car driving from point a to point b. On the weekends and holidays we are homebodies. We will go to my parents' for Christmas Eve, but it doesn't count it's only a 30 minute drive. My in-laws are only a 10 minute drive away - we spend Christmas Day with them.
