I win one every once in a while in a race where hardly anyone shows up. Never anything like FIRST PLACE OVERALL, but just like "2nd place 40-44 women" or whatever.
Once I was 5th woman overall. I should have retired right then, I'll never get that close again.
Can't think of anything else, I'm pretty mediocre.
I won some academic award my senior year in college and got to go to some fancy dinner thing with all the faculty and some industry people... but I can't even remember what it was called now. Ha ha! I got a GSO last week! That means more to me now than the other thing.
Ummm, Gavin told me I was the Best Mom Ever...Does that count???
But, seriously, I used to win 1st place in the Science Fair every year. I was nerdy what can I say. Oh, and I got an award my 1st year as a travel agent for bringing in a million in revenue my 1st year.
A few years ago I won a second place award for the Associated Press in NY for news design. I also won a designer the month prize from one of the newspapers I work on - I won a bottle of maple syrup! It was so delicious I had to scrap it. LOL!
i don't think i've won any awards since college. i used to get stuff all the time - my hubby (who was just my boyfriend at the time) used to joke that it was my career to win stuff because that's what i did all the time. it was weird actually, because most of the stuff i was awarded, i didn't even know about until i was contacted saying i had been chosen... such as "accounting student of the year for the university", or an internship to one of the big 5 firms (then big 5... gone are the days). all very strange. but oddly, no one has contacted me for YEARS with any awards to speak of. i guess i used them all up by age 23.
I won a few awards back when I was a competitive gymnast back in the 80's.
But my PROUDEST moment came in 2005 when I won two big national magazine scrapbook contests in one year: Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame & Memory Makers Masters. Blew my mind because I didn't think that would ever happen!
I won a city spelling bee when I was in 7th grade (I think)--I got a massive trophy that was almost as tall as I was.
Other than Best Mom Ever (courtesy of my boys), I don't think I have won anything else!
