Well, let the menu planning begin!!!! What's your favorite holiday dish?

I am not sure, I think mine has to be the sweet potato and nuts cheesecake my friend makes! I will miss her and her cheesecake this year since she moved across the country! :tantrum

I like to make a yummy trifle at Christmas, with homemade custard and rum soaked cake pieces mmmmmmmm

i like to make fun miniature pecan pies, mini chocolate-chip-cookie-dough truffles, cheese straws, mini key lime tarts and prosciutto-parmesan-puffs. I love to bake! Unfortunately, this has made it hard to fit in anything that isn't really stretchy. So, I am attempting to NOT bake as much this year!

rum cake is delish!!!!

I love homemade cranberry sauce. I made this one last year and it was so simple and delicious!

I might give this a try this year, my hubby loves cranberry sauce (this type not the canned one).

I think I need to check out how far you live from my house! OH YUMMY OH! Specially on the key lime tarts!

I am all over the turkey gravy!!

That's my hubby too!

When we celebrate Thanksgiving (not often, but my Sister in Law is American, so sometimes), my Sister In Law makes this awesome broccoli bacon ranch salad which is one of her family's recipes. It's so good! But at Christmas, I think my favourite thing is Christmas Sandwiches on boxing day, hehe! When else do you put turkey, bacon, ham, bread sauce, cranberry, stuffing and cheese in a sandwich? :D

Danish Christmas lunch is full of delish but my fave is the eel. Mmmmmm! But I must know more about these prosciutto parmesan puffs. And now I want trifle.

I just love the traditionals - turkey done just right, mashed potatoes, and cooked veggies. Our later afternoon party always consists of Cream turkey on bun and I always love that as well!!!

My favorite is the dressing. My kids don't care too much about Thanksgiving dinner, but my 21-year-old son would cease to exist without sweet potato casserole. LOL

Turkey with cranberry sauce, gravy and dressing...yum! My all-time fave! Also, at Xmas time, hubs and I both love buttertarts.

My mom's mashed potatoes are my favorite holiday dish.

My MIL, bless her heart, tries her best, but her ADD tends to kick in while she's cooking so she always ends up with overwhipped stiff-as-a-board potatoes. I have witnessed with my own eyes her standing at the potato bowl, beating away, and looking off into the distance. :giggle

Stewed Pears with clotted cream! My mothers makes them every year and they are so yummie!!

i love the mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and stuffing. homemade cranberry sauce is super yummy too!

I am surprised there are no more sweet tooth gals in here.

My favorite that my Grandma makes is dressing, that I make is "screaming heads" - Brussels sprouts with roasted garlic, prosciutto & fresh Parmesan. My mil's fave that I make is pumpkin cheesecake - made in 2 -6 inch pans to be tall but small enough slices to eat, and my fave that she makes is her cranberry sauce - it is literally the only thing I will eat that has raspberry-anything in it! (My mom makes great reservations - lol!)

Swedish Potato Sausage!! It's the best! My family (my parents, my family, my brother and his family, and my baby brother) make it on Christmas Eve. Half the fun and YUM is the making and sample testing - and the free flowing "holiday cheer" while we work!

I am getting hungry reading this thread. I love the traditional stuff too and am partial to my mom's everything (as opposed to any of my in law's preparations)--we always make these homemade cranberries that I love and I love the rolls and pies too.
