Pad Patter 1/28 - Clean Dishes

dishwasher! although my rinsing off is almost a hand washing - i'm a little bit crazy about clean dishes :) i've had people empty my 'dirty' dishwasher thinking it was clean .. haha ...

I'm with Dana and Renee all the way. For me, dishes have to have NOTHING on them when they go into the dishwasher. I use the dishwasher to sanitize. I hate it when family come over and want to help out by loading the dishwasher. I just know there's still going to be food stuck on after the dishwasher is run. It takes me longer to inspect dishes after someone else has loaded the dishwasher then just doing it myself.

P.S. This is the only thing I am a clean freak about, most of the time I am just a slob.

no dishwasher here :( cept me. only me...all day..every day. With 6 people here there are lots to do!
 
We use the dishwasher for sure and then I handwash all the stuff the didn't fit in like big pots, etc.
 
handwashed, but only because my dishwasher died a few weeks ago and I don´t want to let it repair, because it works with handwashing too LOL
 
After 7 years without a dishwasher, I'm totally taking advantage now! That being said - there are a lot of dishes that I still wash by hand - pots, pans, measuring cups & spoons, things that I'll need before I run the dishwasher (I probably run it every other day). And I also am a stickler for making sure the dishes are scrubbed clean before they go in the dishwasher. If they're not I'll have to wash them all over again.

I am the exact way. My mother always wants to help me out and I know she's a clean freak but I still just want to be left alone to do the dishes after everyone leaves.

My MIL is a huge clean freak usually BUT she washes the entire load of dishes in one sink of water. No rinsing or anything. OMG I hate it. I try so hard to leave the dishes till she is gone, but she often insists and then I feel they need to be washed again. She even leaves chunks of food on and just expects that it will be wiped off by the person drying. bleugh

The dishers are a constant passive agressive fight in my house! My mom leaves her dishes all over the place and I end up cleaning them all the time. We have a dishwasher, but it sucks. I swear the dishes come out dirtier than they go in! So for now, I am the only dishwasher!
