Yesterday, I never turned the puter on. This is huge. I made a point not to go near the beast. I just needed time away.
Have you ever ON purpose just said, nope, no puter for me today?

Nope. :giggle I did go on a cruise, knowing I wouldn't pay for internet while we were on it. That's probably the closest I've come. I live on here.

If I did, I'd just fill the time up with my smartphone and my Nexus 7 or my iPad. lol

I have had the last three weeks away from the computer, I'd be lying if I said I missed it (Ok, I did use up all my data allowance on my phone so I guess I wasn't internet free). It was nice not to be reliant on it.

I did miss scrapping though...

Between here, Facebook, email, Instagram and my constant need to google things, whenever I don't have internet I start going bonkers... now, if I can get online whenever I want, it's not a big deal to not get on (much) some days... it's when I don't have it that something happens where I need to get online right then lol! So glad I finally have a smart phone I can use as a hotspot in emergencies! :giggle

I have, but not often. A lot of days when the kids are doing sports, I just don't have time, but I almost always at least check in the forums for a few minutes in the morning. Can't miss anything, ya know? Hope you enjoyed your day away. :)

I have a few times. Have even gone 3 days without turning it on, now that being said I did use my iPad to check in :giggle

Yes at least once a week when I spend the day with my daughter on her day off. We do errands, clean her apt or walk the dogs/dog park etc...but very rarely get on the computer on those days. It's nice.

yes, sometimes it is just needed. and it feels wonderful to just. step. away. :) hope you enjoyed yourself anne!

the last two days, i have pretty much had an unwanted break from my computer though. SO many problems AGAIN. i just don't know what the heck is going on with this thing. we had 2 snow days, couldn't drive anywhere, and all i wanted to do was have some scrapping time to catch up with MOC. didn't happen. BUT... finally got it somewhat stable last night. knock on wood.

I keep trying to make Sundays computer free but not having great success. I really like it when I do.

Sometimes I do. Just go out and read. It's nice to not have to live for checking mail and responding to others sometimes. For that same reason I don't own a cell phone. If I'm not home to Skype or email I'm not there. I prefer to be stuck in the 80s that way! :giggle

I work on the computer (I'm a programmer) during the week, run a small business that requires a computer for graphic design and CNC controller programming in my "spare" time, and I scrap on the computer. I pretty much never spend a day away from one computer or other, but it doesn't bother me at all. I use it as a tool for very targeted things (like those listed above), and it's never felt like an intrusion on my life. I do what I need to do with it like I would my kitchen mixer or vacuum cleaner, and then I move on. :)

At least once a month now....disconnect for a day! It's quite refreshing. I've noticed that I have let quite a few things slide and to take a day off is good for everyone and everything! :)

I didn't even know it had the ability to be turned off. :giggle

:lmao Angie...that's awesome!!!

Yes, every once in a while, I do stay away from my computer. I may need to do that after MOC is over and suck up to my DH and kiddos!!

I've not gone a whole day (by choice) but will step away from the computer for an evening every now and then. I freak when there is a power outage. My hubs is just as bad as me :)

I tend to use the computer just for scrapping, posting and commenting in the galleries/forums. MOC has seen me on it more than usual. I actually need to spend more time on it because I have a ton of classes in my queue at Jessica Sprague.com and at Creative Live. But I just walk away and put it off 'til later. In fact, I need to get upstairs and make some doll clothes for my granddaughter's doll (GD is 5 years old) right now.

Last weekend we went skiing, so I was offline pretty much all day Saturday, and most of Sunday. I did check to see what the challenges were each day, but that is it!
