Have any of you tried this app/service? I think it is US only, and sounds good in theory (holds the 10 most recently opened books in the app for offline reading, etc) but thought I would see if there was anyone who has actually tried it!

Lol- thanks Anne! (It was the one day this year I have had time to put on make up so I took a pic - ;) )

Okay, my official review is that I love it and I think it's totally worth the money. My husband was all- "don't they already have that and its called the library?" He's got a point, but it's nice to have all the books I want all at once with no late fees! I give it 1 1/2 thumbs up!

Super! Thanks for the review - I am gonna jump in when we get home and try it! (I am horrible about late fees at the library too!)

Have you checked to see if your library loans ebooks? They will automatically check them in on their due date, no late fees.

I've been toying with this too, but haven't jumped in yet because lately I haven't found/made time to read.

I try getting books/ebooks from our local and county library system(s), but where we live, sometimes you are on a waiting list that is 200+ people long and there are one or two copies. :) There are also a lot of books they just don't have yet. Also I've placed holds on ebooks and sometimes it is difficult because you have no idea when you are going to get them, so you could get one at a bad time, or once I had all five holds hit my account at the same time, and couldn't get to all of them. I totally work the libraries out though. :)

I'd totally need to see if Oyster had enough titles I'd want to read to make it worthwhile.

I have a friend who uses Oyster and she LOVES it. Says it's changed her reading life. I haven't tried it yet but she's close to convincing me to give it a try!

So, my library is alright, but I can also access one other city's library. I'm considering paying the out of network fee so I can access the other library network. It includes 10-15 cities, and is pretty reasonable.
