Outlander

oh and i have re read the whole series at least once! and found bits I had obviously read before but MISSED!

Well, the 3rd one that I'm reading now is over 1000 pages. I'm doing a bit of "skimming" through the slow parts. So, I'm sure I'm missing stuff as well. Just wanting to get to the good stuff, hehe.

Finished Book 4 and am a teeny bit into Book 5. I am officially addicted to these characters, LOL. Who needs to sleep, right?

I got lost on one of them and can't find the part where I left it.... and I can't remember the book (which one of them).... and of course I am not starting to re-read it from the beginning because each book is like 3 books in one long.... and I always have to return it to the library before I can get it back.... and that is how I got lost last time.

FINISHED BOOK 5. WOOT. I am so loving this series. Just wanted to share my accomplishment. They are long freakin' books :).

Five was called "The Fiery Cross"... they are in the Colonies on Fraser Ridge.

I love the Outlander series and have read every one of them. A few I've read a couple of times. I think the 2nd is a slow book to get through but I think my favorite is the 3rd book. They are definitely a commitment for a reader! I love the way Diana Gabaldon writes and I feel like her characters jump off the page! But, I will acknowledge that they aren't for everyone!

I read books 1-4 a long time ago and couldn't put them down. At the time, I don't think I realized the series would continue. I tried picking up book 5 years later and couldn't get past the first 100 pages. I'd forgotten too many of the characters and wasn't willing to reinvest by re-reading any of the earlier books. If you can make it through them all in one stretch it should be worth it.

Jen, you're really speeding through the series! The Frasers are pretty addictive though! If you finish all the books before the next one comes out, there's also a short story called A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows that sort of falls in between them.

I'm curious about this TV series. Ronald Moore also did Battlestar Gallactica, which I love, but I'm really curious how they'll deal with these characters and the jump in their ages.
