Our first issuu!

OHHHH is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! should I start writing a few lines per LO in the airtable? there is a space that says description... not sure if you want to talk about the product in there or the page... will start writing in my text doc then in any case I can paste :)
It is gorgoeus!!!!

:yowza
It looks fabulous! I can picture it so much better now, I was having issues. Lol. I am going to try to see it better on the computer screen later as my phone would not let me read it vertical by turning. It may just be because of being a mock up. Idk, but its amazing ♡

It looks great. I think it will be very informative and really is beautiful Laura!!

So fun to see it as a flip book!
Let me know what I can do to adjust the products at the bottom. (page 1 and page 4 of the Inspo article). Did you want all 9 products listed on each at the bottom. Or did you like page 4 format ... and I can add the other 5 products to page 1.

I love it! It looks so professional and inviting.
Question: Is it just my screen or eyes? Or is it slightly blurry to anyone else?

I loved it! It's looks so professional and pretty!

It is also blurry to me.

ETA. I'm going to get mine loaded tomorrow.

It looks amazing! I agree with others...some of it does look a little blurry, but outstanding job by everyone.

Personally I loved seeing all 9 products listed at the bottom, it was really neat to see everything that went into the page at one glance.

Just had to a chance to go through the issue again. ♥ I have a page of notes, hahaha! I won't include them all, and please tell me if these were discussed somewhere else and I just missed it:

1. Blurry, yes - but I think in some spots it is more of the images being pixelated. Did I miss somewhere that the pages needed to be a certain size to share ( I believe we had to have a minimum 700x700 at the Guild) , or will aspect ratio be held as long as it is only a fraction % forced larger by issuu program?

2. Pages 3&4 of 8: My concern about these spaces is - Can we always find enough text for the sections to fill that space without leaving the page looking "unfinished"? What do we do when we can't?

3. Page 5 of 8: I love all the product highlights and the location makes them feel "non advertised" which I think is perfect. Great designer advertising should be subtle. Are these linked? if not, can they be?

4. Page 8 of 8: Inspiration: Is it necessary to have additional space for ads already included for this layout on page 5? Can they also be corralled into a singular space/page...maybe a last page like in most magazines? Maybe instead of additional product placement at bottom of page, ask the artist what inspired them by sharing several small details (image cropped) within the page?

Added note: I was able to finally get it to rotate in my phone, not sure what happened the first 2 times. It looks "less blurry" in my phone screen.

My idea for pages 5 & 8 bottom space that needed to be filled for those template - was pick one or the other - not both - I'm just waiting for final say on which one is the one to go with. Unless someone has a better idea for what could occupy that space? Yes, my intention was to have all products linked.

Blur- everything looks blurry to me in TLP - I have a high res monitor (the newest iMac monitor). I constantly struggle with this. FYI: For my page samples- they are sized at lower resolution to show here in the forum. My pages were saved at 72 dpi for forum viewing for now. (not intended to be final images for Issuu).

Looks great, not sure if it's a font issue or the text itself but the blur and maybe my old eyes made reading it a bit difficult with out hitting the + zoom button when the blur seemed more pronounced - i had to zoom to the point the top and bottom black line border was cutout and i know that would be an individual eyesight thing but is it possible to make the font a bit bigger? might make filling the Lorem ipsum spaces easier for the less verbose writers and depending on how long the issue is, might make what's written more likely to be read (otherwise it might end up being a lot of work for a quick flip thru looking at pictures - and i LOL'd at the ' write something clever here' bits about Allison's Notebook stuff but generally it looks fantastic

i love the layout though - clean, fresh and love the short grabs at the bottom under Jenn Mc's social media pocket page stuff and the ad's and break down of what's used visually is awesome to me - i love when LiLi does this in her credits in the gallery but it's never something i remember to do and seems so time consuming!

The problem I found with the crediting that way (with the thumbs of kits that are linked) is that when I do the editing of credits/text to then move them to the Polly Gallery on the day, I write everything and copy and paste into a Notes (text document on the iMac) which I have next to my window, then when I go upload in the other galleries and groups, I paste from that document..... something I can't do if I use the thumbs, so it will take me even longer ....taking not that I do an average of 5 Los on DOSN and more on New Releases, is a possibility.... but in here I think is gorgeous the look af the general thing,
I agree with @Danyale to the fact that product advertising being more subtle is better....

I think we are going to have to request hi-res versions of everything to make this work. This includes both product previews and layouts...which is going to add significantly to the time. Otherwise, we're always going to be fighting blurriness unless we just save it as a PDF and don't do issuu.
:faint2

Laura, I scrap in full size, I keep the full size for when I print, and I know some other Pollys also do it, so we maybe in luck and some of the pages we picked at least will be ready for full size?
I even keep the layered files, though I know not everyone does, I don't think it would be much of a problem for Pollys to scrap on full size?
@lmccandless

If you ever need any of mine I keep the layered full size pages too!

I can do this for you. I think it's just Polly's so far, so a thread where I can ask for the page we want to use, and track when we have a full size link for it? Can we download full size from imgur or flickr or smugmug, etc? Or do you want them emailed/dropboxed? I can do either.

Sounds great!! Let's use Dropbox if possible. Let me know if you want to chat about a process. We will need to do the same for designer previews.
