Ok, you know when you do something you are not supposed to do but you go "nothing bad is going to happen, this just one time"... so you do it and you have to eat your words?

Well, sit back and enjoy the story...

I get in the car ready to drive B to her ice skating class and remember the RedBox movie that needs to be returned. I decide against my good judgement to leave the car "on" with B still buckling in.... since the DVD is right on the washer on the other side of that door in front of me. Nothing bad is going to happen... right? I open the door of the house and the alarm goes off startling me and the dog.. I grab the movie still startled, turn off the alarm and fall down the two steps from the house to the garage. I hit the grill of the car avoiding not to hit my head in the car, my legs get tangled trying to avoid the dog... they hit the steps and I end up on the floor of the garage in front of a car that is "ON". The pain just came at once with it's friend nausea, I can't get up, but I must. The car is ON I am right in front of it.... but I can't move. I hear the door of the car open and my daughter comes RUNNING to me. "Mom, are you ok? Oh, mom please be ok!!!!!" I see her starting to freak out, she starts coughing and having trouble breathing... oh yeah she is going into a mini shock with me spread on the floor. I started moving, held on to the darn grill of the car and stood up.... shaking of pain.... I tell her "there you go, mommy is fine". She is still freaking out, there is so much fear in her young eyes that is breaking my heart. I dusted my pants and walked to the car and sat down. All I wanted to do was shut the darn car off. Still shaking I kept ensuring my sweet gal, mommy is ok. We spend a few minutes in the car and finally I talk myself into driving her to her ice skating class. When I tried to get out of the car, I am having trouble bending my left knee. I look at it and there is blood seeping through my jeans... oh yeah... and the pain was back. I get out walk to the counter and ask one of the girls to help Bianca with her skates and if I could borrow their First Aid kit. I head to the bathroom and find a really bad skinned knee and noticed a pretty bad cut on a finger. Cleaned and band-aid in the right places.... I get back out to start shaking of cold and pain.... and now here I am telling you.... NEVER EVER listen to the darn little devil on your shoulder!

I would show you my beautiful knees but I haven't shaved my legs in 2 days! LOL!!!!:whistle

Oh my gosh!! That could have been much worse. I'm glad you didn't whack your head and pass out!

me too tali, I did all I could to avoid that darn car... did I mention that I had to pick up my daughter in the morning because she had vomited due to congestion... and got home to the dog having diarrhea? It was a bad bad bad day!

good grief woman you are in the wars! Sorry to hear you banged yourself up but so grateful you are ok .... it could have been much worse .... hugs!!

Oh geesh! That sounds scary! I'm glad it wasn't any worse! Hope you're not too sore today and that you have a MUCH better day today!

today is a new day, and hoping it's 1,000 times better than yesterday!!! hope it doesn't hurt too much today :(

Oh my goodness Dalis, it's true, when you do things in a hurry the chances that they go bad increase exponentially! :( I'm sorry you got banged up a bit, but I'm glad it wasn't worse. Take it easy today and indulge yourself! (((hugs)))

Oh my goodness, Dalis! My heart was in my throat just reading that! So glad it wasn't worse. Hope you have a much better day today! (((hugs)))

Oh my gosh! I started to panic for yours the story unfolded - so glad that you are ok! Whew - I take your warning for sure!

Ok, so I am feeling much better than I expected today.... and... I am milking it... I told hubby I am not cooking today and that I need a fair share of FroYo in my system... LOL!!!!!! Of course I texted him all these in a very dramatic affair. I, of course, call him back and tried to read my own text with a serious face and broke giggling half way there. He told me he almost believed all the stuff I texted him... I told him "that's why I called you, silly..."

Holy Cow Dalis. Don't you think it might be a good idea to add knee and elbow caps to your daily underwear? Plus maybe put on a helmet when you leave the house?

Don't say that in front of hubby, he might think it's the way to go! I am clumsy, but yesterday was beyond compare.

sheesh Dalis! sounds like you and I have something in common! this totally sounds like something I would do! i'm so glad it wasn't worse... hope you're on the mend!

Are you glad that it was my turn to be clumsy and not yours?

I'll keep my comments to the forum Dalis! No worries. Hope the bumps and bruises will heal soon my friend!

I'm glad to hear you are better, and overall that nothing terribly bad was a result of this....but what a scray thing to go through....

I am especially careful with the car as one friend of mine had hers gone down the hill and into a creek, another the gar got out of the break and the dog ended up crashed by one wheel.... so, not only I turn the car of, but make sure that every little thing is ok before I get out...

@Mirjam: you crack me up!!!!

I know cynthia, I never ever do that, no idea why I thought it was ok to do it. I am so glad I am ok, now I might need to go see the doc because my knee is just not "healing" right and it stinks. Hubby says it's supposed to do that, but again, I have no clue.
