do you back up online? I need to do this but I am not sure who to use or who to avoid. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

I have Apple's Time Capsule (which is also used to get online for WiFi) and it works with my computer's Time Machine. Everything gets backed up to that on daily basis.

I've had Carbonite and Backblaze in the past...I really preferred Carbonite over Backblaze as far as setting up your backup and knowing what has been backed up, but the downside for me was that you have to pay for it annually instead of the monthly fee that Backblaze charges.

I have the time capsule too but if there was ever a fire or water damage in our home its all here, not sure I like those odds. Thanks Sara, I think i like a monthly fee too but i will check them out.

Very true!

i use blackblaze... like it. never had to use it, though (knock on wood).

I did. On both Carbonite and Backblaze I had to restore a few files from my C drive (thank goodness I kept most of my data on my D drive). I was able to restore from both without any issue. I had a computer that was eating hard drives which is why up until this past weekend I've been sharing with DH...so happy to have my own again!

I was researching this a little before Christmas and there were quite a few people at DST recommending crashplan, but I didn't get any further with my research to check them out.

We have CrashPlan. We never had to recover anything (knock on wood), so I don't have feedback about that, but we are happy with it.

Are any of these companies Paypal friendly? I don't have credit cards so in the past, many options are out for me.
