Here in uk ready for the weekend,i dont do cold weather, why cant my kids walk themselves to school, infact why cant they get them selves up for school and feed themselves so that i can stay tucked up in my nice warm bed

It's warmer here today than yesterday - above freezing! It was 1 degree when I took the dog out for her walk, I am eternally grateful for fleece lined walking trousers! :lol

was -3 when i came out of work last night at 8.30 i had to scrape the car id forgotten to take my coat so had just my work jacket on and no gloves then i needed to put petrol in,by the time i got in the car to come home my hands was actually hurting boo hoo.i know -3 isnt that bad to some of you but to me its bloody freezing lol

Kate think i need some of them trousers just for every day use lol

lol mine DO get up and feed themselves, but I get up anyway. I like my coffee in peace before the little ones need to get up.

i always wonder at people who love their dogs enough to take them out in 1 degree weather :giggle perhaps this is why i don't have a dog. *lol*

Haha! That's why I like living in warm climates :) When we were visiting our family in New England and it was 12 degrees with a wind chill of 1 degree and my dog wanted to take her sweet time outside...I was cursing (mostly cursing my husband for not getting out of bed to take her out!).

Yikes! Me LIKES the south and the warmer temps. I do not do well with freezing temps! Hope there's a warm up soon for all of you.

With ours, it's a matter of sanity. If they don't get out at least once a day they're bouncing off the walls and driving us crazy! When it's really cold, we don't take them out for that long though, because I'm worried their pads will freeze. Just long enough to let them run some energy out!

It was 68 here yesterday in the middle of January, which is something like 48 degrees above normal, so I can't complain.

They are especially attractive - waterproof outside, fleece lined inside, makes me look twice the size I actually am and makes me rustle when I walk! Nice!

These UK temps are celsius btw (think that's about 30 Fahrenheit) - not sure I love my dog enough to take her out in 1 degree F! :giggle

Right? It's 48 right now. On Jan 31. I barely know how to act.

right! we never seem to know what to expect here lately. cold? warm? tropical? :shrug this morning i sent my oldest out the door with his winter coat, hat and gloves, and the kid who catches the bus with him was wearing just a hooded sweatshirt. *sigh* i guess he can ditch the hat and gloves. hopefully he doesn't melt. apparently we're expecting somewhere around 50 here today??

LOL Our limit is -30C. If it is below -30C my dog's coat actually gets frost where it is rubbed (because of the natural oils in the coat I guess). I figure if she's frosting up, then it is far too cold (for her, though, I still have to get the kids to the bus). Otherwise, she's ready made for the cold.

If it is -40C or below with the wind chill, I drive to the bus and we wait in the car. Around here that makes us whimps.

BTW, a week and a half ago, we had -44C with the wind chill.

Today, it is around -3C. Crazy weather for us.

Karen, -3C in England is way colder than -3C here - your wet climate makes cold feel much more colder than it really is. (We get to say "at least it's a dry cold" :giggle). Keep bundled up!
