So we don't get rain all that much here in So. Cal. So I LOOOVE it when it rains! It's supposed to rain all this week and most of next week. :happydance2

That being said ... it didn't rain today at all. Just a little bit overcast. So DD & I went to Costco. I thought maybe I should grab the umbrella - just in case.

When we left Costco with a SUPER full shopping cart (haven't been in almost a month which is a LONG time for me) - it was POURING. And not just pouring. It was raining sideways. And the drops hit you so hard that it hurt. I managed to get DD in the car without her getting very wet but after about 10 seconds of trying to put the food in the back of the van, I gave up on the umbrella. I was dripping wet from head to toe. All the boxes the food is in are soggy and falling apart. We couldn't even see while we were driving. It was just NUTS!

But we made it home - and of course NOW, 30 minutes later, the sun is out. :groan

Hopefully the rain stays away for 15 more minutes when I have to get the boys from school.... LOL

I SO remember rain like that before we moved! It's impossible to do anything in!

Sounds like we sent our rain down south to you. I thought we were going to wash away last week, it was insane! Of course, ours lasts considerably longer than a half hour round these parts (Vancouver). You are welcome to much more of it btw! :lol

Apparently there were TORNADO warnings while I was out. For some of you that's normal but for me - I can think of two times in my LIFE that that has happened here. Sheesh!

Yikes! Now that is scary! We had the one hurricane here and it was so frightening. Normally we get the endless rain, and a doozy of a windstorm here and there, but severe weather like hurricanes and tornadoes is not something I'm used to at all.

Wow scary. It's probably a good thing you didn't know about the warnings while driving...I would have been panicking!!

So if you hear a tornado warning go off while you are driving, you are suppose to stop and throw yourself in a ditch. I'm sorry, but I can not see myself doing that.

Well here there is no means of issuing a tornado warning like that. The only way it can be broadcast is via radio or tv. It just NEVER happens here.

We had rains like that in FL. And I remember driving and being scared out of my wits. I mean you couldn't see anything. So I'm so glad you made it safely!!

I really love storms!!! But not if I have to be out in them! Are they worried about mudslides after the fires this summer?

Our rain is currently freezing into a sheet of ice, but they are still having school. I wonder how many accidents there will be today? And hopefully the power stays on!

I heard on the news that the rain is really bad in Cali. 5" yesterday and the same for today... wow that's alot of rain.

Hope you are staying dry Karah. I'm only going out if I have to, and since I have my hair appt this morning, I'm heading out! I have to do Costco today (this will be a SMALL trip...I've done the big one in the rain, and everything was soaked), and we have dinner plans tonight with some old friends. I'd much rather stay inside all day!

I'm ready for it to stop!

LOL Debra - I hear ya. I keep having places to go though. Blah. At least the mountains looked GORGEOUS this morning when the clouds lifted just a bit. Can't see them right now of course since it's pouring. LOL
