OMG, I'm such a geek

And apparently, a cheap geek.

Logged into my library account and saw they had added a TON of new books, and when I saw that I think I squealed a little. I just added over 20 new books to my library wish list, and I'm far more excited about it than I should be!

I love to squeal about books and good deals...put them together and kapowee yahoo!

I think that is perfectly normal behavior, so I guess you're in good company! My hubby doesn't read, but I've read to my kids or they've read to me every day of their life so that they'll grow up liking to read. He's always teasing me that we go to library more than any other place and that we are just weird. :giggle

I've always been a reading dork. I get so excited about new books coming out and am on our library online system so I get updates. I also check out the new books for sale when I'm in a checkout line at the store and snap a pic so when I go home I can see the pic with the name and author and then order it through the library. Before cell phone cameras, I used to carry a small notepad & pen in my purse so I could jot down the title/author so when I got home I could search for them at the library.

I have an embarrassingly large stack of library books at home right now. I had a ton on the "hold" list; some were 30 spots out. But a bunch came in all at the same time, so I have to hurry and read a bunch or see if I can extend the loan period. :/

But I don't have a book budget. It is all scrap money. LOL. Seriously though, I read too fast to pay for books lately. I can read a book a day... even if it is 700 pages. I did just get the new Stephen King book, but that's the only one I've bought in months. I figured out, with the books I've borrowed from the library just in the past few months, it has saved me $400-500.

I'm a total book geek. But I'm also picky, so the library is my favorite place.

I only signed up at our library less than a year ago, and I wish I had done it sooner! They've saved me SO much money!! I love that they have a wish list feature too!

Julie...
That is perfectly logical and acceptable behavior! We (kids and I) are book lovers and total library fans! :)

If anyone is on Goodreads, I'm mrs2a50 on there and would love to add people to my friends list there!
