OMG...I'm DYING here!

So, even though I got a big, beautiful 27" iMac for my birthday in June, complete with CS6, I had been using my Sony Vaio laptop with PSE7, because I didn't have the patience to learn two new things at once. Well, last night, my laptop completely died. Dead. To. The. World. GAH! Now, I'm forced on my iMac and I'm lost. (I know, a new iMac *and* CS6...cry me a river.) Lost as in, someone just drove me blindfolded into the middle of the Black Forest and left me with no compass to find my way out! lol. I just finished a LO in record time...4.5 hours! :giggle I might be a tad behind on CT work this week. Whatcha' think?

Yeah. I know, Val. ;) I just keep pushing the wrong buttons! lol. Hopefully, they'll start to go quicker. ;)

LOL you'll get use to them! lol I used to work on pc at home but when I got this real life job they only had iMacs here because you know it's way better for designing so I had to learn how everything worked real quickly. This was a few years ago. Then a couple of months ago I could afford my own iMac and I never looked back! In fact I hope I don't need to work on a pc ever again :giggle

That's why my mac promptly went back to the apple store after a week of wanting to throw it out the window. I have no doubt you are much smarter and more patient than I am though so I am sure you will be up and running in no time.

I don't have either, but I wanted to offer you some encouragement!

You can do it!!!!
I'm sure you'll learn it in no time!

lol. That's so funny, Amanda! I've been wanting to switch forever. I've had nothing but problems with any PC I've ever owned. I've been through 6 laptops in the last 2.5 years! I was totally fed up, so Husband surprised me with the iMac for my birthday! It was so sweet and I was so excited...until I turned it on! lol. Then I was just discouraged. So, I kept scrapping on my laptop and using the Mac for web browsing, checking email, Pinterest and FB. Outside of that, I've done nothing with it...until today! I will say, however, that what little I've done on it, everything seems easier...once I figure it out. Just one or two clicks with a mouse and it's done! It automatically unzips files, and loading styles, actions, etc. are so much simpler! It's just knowing where to look. Thankfully, I have Val, who is beyond amazing and answers all my questions at the speed of light!

As for being patient...let's just say that patience is *not* one of my virtues! lol.

And Nikki, thank you for the encouragement sweetie. I need all I can get!

You mean you normally finish a layout in less than 4.5 hours?! You're much faster than me! :giggle Hope you get it all sorted out soon. Sometimes being forced into it is the quickest way to learn something. :thumbsups

Exactly why I could never switch..my mind can't handling the "re-training"..lol! That auto unzipping sounds pretty cool...I am sure you will be loving it in no time :)

My hubby keeps telling me that I should get a Mac and then I remind him that I do NOT like change. That's probably the only way I'd be able to switch too Jordan... All computers in the house would have to die completely. LOL. We have three good computers though so it'll probably never happen. Good luck! Everyone says after the initial shock, it's the only way to go.

Oh no girlies, you should not be afraid of changing to a mac LOL I've been there! I can assure you, it's waaaaaaay better than a pc. Every thing is so much easier LOL
Hey Mac girls, where are you? LOL I could use a little help out here!! LMAO/

Yikes I feel your pain. I have issues learning new computer stuff!
