ugh. Do you know why i hate summer time? It's not because i'm sweating, or that i get the most awful sun burns. No... it's because my house turns into an oven and bad bad things happen in the kitchen.

*gaaaaag*

I've been trying to impress upon kidlet how it's extra important to be super diligent about food stuff, cleanliness, taking out the trash etc in the summer. He never remembers to rinse his plate off when he throws it in the sink, and when the kitchen temp reaches 1000 degrees -- well that breakfast from 8am is going to turn into quite the science project by dinner time. No bigs right.. that's an easy fix.

The problem is our stupid trash can -.- there's only two of us.. The trash doesn't fill up quickly enough and i feel really not right emptying it before it's full.

I've changed my mind today though. It was stinky, so i pulled it out even though it was only 1/2 full. The bag was full of .. black.. liquid. Stank. Death. Liquid.

I'm going to go drown that side of the house in bleach now .. *yeeaaaaaaaauuuuuuuck*

I'm the same way, feel bad about throwing out only partially full bags. But if you cut up chicken you have to take it right out or the whole kitchen smells like "death".

Ugh! That sounds like my kitchen! I feel like I'm always cleaning up. The kitchen and trash are science experiments for sure. I think I should get a smaller trash can. And the dog made it worse by peeing on the door mat twice yesterday!

Yikes!! At our house our trash fills up quickly as there are 7 of us, but still, I will not hesistate to empty trash early if it is nasty. I used to have that issue when I was alone, and I just used a super tiny trash can and bags.

i think i know that black liquid death. i've seen it a time or two here.

whenever we have slow trash weeks, i put the big trash can out in the garage. then i use smaller plastic grocery bags and take them out to the trash as they fill up. seems to help keep the stank down.

another trick i do... when i have meat scraps to toss out, but it's not close enough to trash day, i stick them in baggies and put them in the freezer. i just have to remember to clear out the freezer for trash day...sometimes i forget that. :giggle

Yep, I hear ya. With 7 of us, we change it daily. But 4 kids were gone for 2 weeks, leaving just me, dh and Sean. Dh was at work all day, and Sean was at daycare, so really it was just me. By day 3 I was like WHAT IN HELL IS THAT SMELL?! It was the garbage. And we have air. Even with the air on, after 3 days, that was WORSE THAN DEATH.

Yuck, that's awful. We're "lucky" and barely reach 90F here in the summer. 80% of the time we're in the 60's *rolling eyes smilie insert here*

this is the one thing I will miss about living in an apartment once we move into a house (hopefully next month!) ... right now I can walk the trash bags outside, anytime day or night, to the dumpster in our parking lot. Once we have a house, I will have to wait for trash day! I have a feeling that our garage will become pretty stinky at times...
