So, in the US, 420 is apparently a weird number code for getting high on marijuana. I don't know the origins, but it made me wonder.

Do other countries have this same meaning for 420? Or does your country/state/city/family have other numbers with underlying meaning?

Nick and I had pagers once upon a time in high school along with our friends, so we had a number code system for some phrases like "I love you", "where are you?", Etc. And a joke had a code 51025100 that would make us laugh when we read it. (note to self: I need to scrap this!)

Are there other numbers that are associated with happy/sad/eventful things in your life?

Do you have numbers you don't like?

What's your favorite number? Why?

I like number 7, always have. I have no idea about numbers that are code for something else.
I will tell my Baby Boomer hubby often that something is an I D 10 T problem. That is code for user error.

420 came from a group of high schoolers. They have their own website explaining how the numbers were coined as code for marijuana. Apparently they met at 4:20 to harvest some plants . . . and then it just kind of spread.

Are there other numbers that are associated with happy/sad/eventful things in your life? Not that I can think of.

Do you have numbers you don't like? No, there aren't any that I don't like.

What's your favorite number? Why? I don't have one!

First thing that popped into my mind was 90210 ... I still love you Dylan McCay! (Side note: I still haven't watched the rest of Riverdale, since Luke Perry died. I know I will cry so I can't breathe!)

Lucky number is 2.

Never heard of that 420. Maybe it's not used in Sweden. Maybe I'm too old. LOL

I like Friday the 13th b/c my mom was born on Friday the 13th so according to her, it was her lucky day. :)

10-4 was big during the CB craze. And, it struck a personal note for me since my birthday is October 4th.

38 means I love you. If you take the numbers on an old rotary phone and add up the numbers that spell I LOVE YOU, you get 38. We used it as a code when Michael was at work at his first job so he didn't have to say "I love you" in front of his guy friends who were asses about women. It stuck. :)

I thought 420 meant the day they celebrated Marijuana legalization?

My hubby informed me of the significance of this number this morning...saying he thought Elon Musk was going to do something with Twitter or something. I literally don't know...but my hubby is up on all this news and I just nod my head like I know and am interested. LOL!

Are there other numbers that are associated with happy/sad/eventful things in your life? Not really. My anniversary always stands out to me if I hear it.

Do you have numbers you don't like? 666. Not really, but it's just one of those numbers. We had a toy when the kids were little one of those alphabet keyboard things) and literally started saying 666 in the middle of the night! We promptly threw it away.

What's your favorite number? Why? Don't have one.

Our phone rang once & the caller ID said 666. I did not reply! Took a photo of it though ... I should scrap that. LOL

I always tell them when I get a new license plate not to give me that number. They always laugh and say they don't EVEN HAVE that number.

I got a little tickled today because they came to do random drug testing on student athletes today...on 420 :giggle

Are there other numbers that are associated with happy/sad/eventful things in your life? Any Friday the 13th - my divorce was final on that day so it's always a happy reminder for me.

What's your favorite number? Why? 27...and I'm not really even sure, just always liked it. My first wedding was on the 27th, so that's a bit of a bummer

I heard 420 was the police code for a marijuana offense.

Some people think 13 is an unlucky number but I like it because it was the date in July 1996 that our choice of wedding venue was available. :)

I don't dislike any number.

I decided in high school that my favorite number would be 2 because we have 2 eyes and ears to pay better attention to each other, and 2 is a couple in love.

I haven't really thought about having a favorite number in a long time though.

I knew about the whole 420 story!

Are there other numbers that are associated with happy/sad/eventful things in your life? Besides the dates of my wedding and twins birthday, not really.

Do you have numbers you don't like? No

What's your favorite number? Why? I don't have one. I like the number 44 because it was my daughters basketball number for years but I wouldn't consider it a favorite number.

Interesting. Urban legends are strong, eh? I have no interest in marijuana or smoking it, so it kinda goes in one ear and out the other with me.

I've never tried it. The first time I saw a joint was at church when a police officer came with a board covered with all manner of pills and such so we could know what to avoid. The second time I saw a joint was at someone's home, and I had no idea what they were doing until afterwards. The third time I found one in the glove box of a car I was riding in, and I made them drop me off immediately as I was terrified of being arrested. LOL I still didn't recognize the smell until I was in my 20's. I just thought it was cigarette smoke combined with sweet+sweaty body odor and/or alcohol.

I have to admit that the last three weeks have been torturous with back pain, and if my doctor suggested medical marijuana, it's highly likely I would have said yes. As it is, I'm sticking to my prescription meds, which honestly aren't better as there's such a crisis over opioids.

I dated a guy for awhile that smoked wacky weed. He and another couple wanted me to try it. I said "no thanks", just smelling it is enough to get me a little high. Thankfully they respected my decision. And, this would have been in the early 80's when it definitely wasn't legal anywhere!

My mom's cousin was considering seeing if the doctor would put her DH on medical marijuana but I haven't heard if that was a route they could take. He's been in bad health for quite a few years and is pretty much housebound because he is in so much pain. He's been to so many specialists and has not been able to get any relief. I stopped to see her on my way home from my last appointment in Columbus. I was there a couple of hours and never saw him. He was in bed the whole time.... late afternoon.
