So we get our bill for our Verizon Phone and it's about 2.00 over. Apparently we are being charged for a downloaded song. However, my DH and I really do not like phone technology and actually had our text messaging turned off our phone! So the idea that we would download a (what turns out to be a rap song) is kinda crazy.
After looking all over the bill and not finding a phone number, I go on the web to try and get a phone number. It won't even give me customer service phone number, or even a store location, until I turn on cookies! Finally I find a number through google maps and call. Of course there are hoops there too, but not to bad. I finally get someone and she says, you have to take the phone into a store and have them verify that it was not downloaded on to the phone. No they don't know how the charge got there if we did not ask for it.
So I go to the store. To even speak to a person I have to go up to a screen, touch it, type in my last & first name and phone number and problem. Uggh. I finally talk to someone. The phone shows that there was no download on the phone. No they don't know how the charge got there. And now I have to go home and call customer service to have the charge removed. No the customer service in the store can not do that.
(They also reactivate our on-line account. I started the process once before of changing my password, but because I don't get text messages, there was no way to complete the process.)
I call again and jump through those hoops again. Then I have the charge removed and ask to speak to a manager. First to complain about all the intricacies of removing a 2.00 charge and second to give them my conspiracy theory about how the charge got there. (I think it's someone at the company. I mean who takes the time to figure out your account info for a $2.00 rap song. It has to be someone in the company who has the account info. KWIM)
No manager is available. You can go on-line and fill out a report. Sorry I have no more desire to participate in their three ring circus.
I know I'm not a big follower of technology. (It comes from not having the desire to figure it out after chasing after 5 kids.) It sure seems to me that Verizon's technology is really making everyone's life harder. So am I getting crabby in my old age and being unreasonable?
