Nothing | Pad Patter 5.13

I like random! My brain is pretty much in squirrel mode all.the.time.

This weekend I bought more cloth pads (in fun shapes, sharks, Dracula, a bunny, bats, a cupcake, cats, and potted saguaros), my daughter and her boyfriend came over on Saturday, then yesterday we went to my mom's house.

Ohhh and I ate an entire box of chocolates in two days...totally not keto friendly, but damnit, I deserved them!

A regular week for me -- no work today, staff meeting + board meeting tomorrow, Girl Scouts & swimming lessons (one kid for each not both in both) Wednesday, and Family Dinner (dinner at my parents' house with my sister & nephew) Thursday. We need to squeeze in working on my daughter's Science Fair board that's due next Thursday but not sure when that will happen. Not sure what's happening Friday yet as my husband is planning on taking the kids to his nephew's confirmation 4+ hours away this weekend but don't know when they'll be leaving.

I'm planning on seeing the new Melissa McCarthy movie with a friend & catching up on scrapping & Hulu (and re-celebrating Mothers' Day since yesterday was subpar at best) Saturday. I have to work Sunday morning (perils of working for a church!) and then scoot over to my nephew's confirmation/birthday party in the afternoon.

We are in the process of getting ready to move. My Honey finally gets to retire full time and we are moving to the most wonderful place in Cusick, Washington! It's Heaven on earth there. Forest, mountains, lakes and rivers, seasons, everything is green, rains a lot, clouds come right down to the ground sometimes, wildlife come right into your yard. We are so excited. But it's sure a mess around here getting ready to go. Still have some packing to do and we are in the paperwork/home inspection phase at the moment. Sold our home without even putting it on the market so we don't have to worry about showing. Just pack up and leave! We will be in the boonies. Walmart is an hour away. And all the bigger stores are in Spokane which is 2-3 hours away. So life is going to change drastically for us. We live in the city now where all we need is within 10 miles of us. Culture shock coming for sure. But I think we are ready for it. :)

I took a long nap yesterday afternoon as it was a chilly dismal day. Once i had heard from my son#1, dil#2, and finally from son#2 (the hotel chef) who had been working all day I decided that it was time to snooze as the house was cool and damp. My daughter is not in a good mood or place so I had no expectations of hearing from her. One year it's good but the next year can suck.

I had also heard from a male friend that he finally left his long term (20+years) partner. I knew they had issues but I didn't know it had become that bad. That kind of put a damper on my day thinking of him and how the partner would not want to sell their house or buy him out. The nap helped me after some prayers for both of them.

I've really enjoyed catching up with everyone and what's going on :)

We have moved into Summer mode here (even the weather - humid and 80's & 90's). DD is done with school (except she has to do math with me this summer). DS finished spring semester at college but moved back to school for the short summer session (classes started yesterday). We have a wedding to attend on Saturday. Talked to the oral surgeon about DD's wisdom teeth coming out - scheduled for June after vacations. Little one is still coming for babysitting for another 2 weeks. I have been doing @jenevang's and @Lynne-Marie's Heart of Scripture workshop and really enjoying that.

Otherwise, just getting ready for vacations in 2 weeks. DD and 2 friends are off to Williamsburg - Busch Gardens and Water Country for a week. Hubby and I are cruising to Alaska. I got my new camera and the controls are sooo different. I still have not figured out how to shoot in raw. I did figure out how to change the ISO, shutter, and aperture, so there is that. I need to go out and shoot until changing things becomes natural. Don't want to miss a whale because I can not make the camera work.
