This year, I have decided I want to make a list of certain things- the books my daughter and I read together, the movies or shows we watch on Disney + and Netflix, the number of times we go to my husband’s work... etc. My plan is to make a spread for each piece of data at the end of the year. My husband and daughter are really into statistics so I thought it would be a fun thing for them to see.

My question is... I am trying to decide how to record this. I could use the Notes app and still may... but is there a better note taking app? What makes it better? I am not really looking to add pictures, just make lists that are continually added to.

I use MS One Note. I don't know of any others. It keeps track of all my sigi scrap challenges and medical supply orders for me nicely.

I track my books read on a spreadsheet. Been doing it that way for a number of years. Each year has its own tab. But again, I am a spreadsheet junkie... I use them for everything! I even have another book spreadsheet that has authors that do series books. I can track which ones I have and have read on it. I note when future releases are coming out as well.

I have used OneNote in the past but I always forget about it. I have tried others in the past but don't even remember their names because they just didn't work for me.

I keep going back to spreadsheets.

Evernote and one note are my go-tos. I like them because it's easy to search, and because they are accessible on both phone and computer.

IFTTT will do some things automatically with Evernote (havent looked into onenote stuff) depending on types of things you want to track... for instance everyday i get a new evernote note of news... so when i go back to do PL on a somewhat empty photo week, i can add something from current events.

Otherwise, my planner papers and post it notes are my back up.

I just use the Keep app that came with my Android phone - the icon is a yellow post-it with the bottom right corner dog warred & a white light bulb on it - it has a bullet kinda list so I've used that for similar data like what the kids have watched on planes etc, I never went looking for alternates as it was easy enough to use for my purposes

I use Notes on my iPhone for most things as well as Apple's Calendar. The latter my dh and I share with 5 different calendars between us.

When you say "spread" I'm wondering if you mean a spread sheet or layout? For all those data bits, I'd go with spread sheets. DH prefers tables which I really dislike as you can sort a spreadsheet a zillion ways but tables are static. ugh I started a spreadsheet for my new car's gas mileage but keep forgetting to ask the resident engineer for the formula bit. That I'm not good at as my days of using ANY math are long, long gone.

So. I have two apps I use: Google Keep and Workflowy.
Google keep is like a bunch of post-its on my phone. I can color code them, add voice and text.
Workflowy is nested lists. So, I have my school list and then a list for each semester. I don't like google keep for nested lists. Workflowy is amazing at those though!

I sometimes use an app called notebook. It gives you the option to have several different notebooks for different subjects. I got it because I liked the graphics...don't know if it would work for you.
