We have this humongous crane in Annapolis on the building site of a new apartment complex. Apparently there are only three of this size/kind in the world and I've had a hard time getting a shot of the whole frickin' thing!

Well, my dh just took his car to the dealer this am for an adjustment and said "you can really see that crane coming up route 2". I said "so you can get a pic down by the dealer, about there on route 2?" He thought a moment and said he didn't think I could get it right there....thought some more and said..."You really need to be standing in the middle of the road." REALLY Dick???? <--- btw, that's his name, I'm not swearing though it kind of fits today LOL

omigosh, that is so funny! You need to scrap that conversation as well as that crane! :giggle

Lol, Geeze Louise Dick!
This reminds me of last Saturday though. We were riding on the top of a double decker bus through San Francisco. The tour guide kept pointing out how tall the new Salesforce building will be, much taller than the Transamerica. Staring up that high at cranes towering over the Transamerica is scary. Driving right under the Transamerica from the top of a double decker bus is insane. I had to just ignore him every time he wanted to point out construction. Sheesh.

Hahaha I totally just laughed out loud! My husband should probably just legally change his name to Dick at this point :giggle
But, seriously, I do love cranes, too...but not quite enough to stand in the middle of a busy road for a photo haha

i LOL'd too but i'm sure some people would have taken him seriously, shooting from the floor does give a better angle sometimes... not that i'd risk lying on my belly in the middle of the road!

Did you ask if he would drive you to the perfect spot so you can just quick get of the car? Bigger target and puts him in the middle of the road with you.
Could you take two or more pics and cleverly lay them out to get the whole crane?

Right now I am settling for the photo shown in the opening post. I took that down on the ground which ain't easy at my age!

When I started reading the first sentence, I initially thought you were talking about a bird. :giggle

Bwhahahaha! Ohhhh Dick.... :compcoffee:giggle
:shemademe

I love cranes and fire ladder trucks but getting the shot can be tricky. Is there anyway to be on site? I took one of my husband's fire truck with the ladder extended by being "underneath" more or less. Just stood at the bottom but away and focused upward to the sky for my shot with some other detail photos of the mechanicals separate. I should try to find that page, hahaha!

Maybe safer than dodging traffic, lol:yippee

YOU GOT IT!!! That's awesome, Maureen! And this story is way too funny!! Definitely got a chuckle out of it!!
