I was all excited for Christmas this year until...
1. my grandmother is dying. Hospice brings her "home" Tuesday and she will be taken off all her meds. We don't know if she will even make it to New Years. She was like a second mother to me and practically raised me when my mom worked when I was little. Even though she will be out of pain, I am very worried how my mother (her caregiver) will handle it. My mom herself had a massive heart attack and almost died a few years back and doesn't "need" this extra stress.
2. I got my student loan payment statement in the mail and they want over 500 a month from me...that is INSANE. Now I could file my taxes separately (usually jointly with my husband) to get my payments decreased significantly but I'm scared we will have a crazy tax bill.

Sorry this is long and depressing. I am trying to focus on making this holiday joyful, at least for my son, but it has been a rough morning already.

oh dear Ama,
there is a whole lot on your plate...
just a hug and happy smile to you, and thinking about that amazing son you have, the hugs he gives and the joy in his eyes!

ama, sorry to read about your grandmother, it's such a difficult time, I know.
sending prayers and {{{hugs}}}.

:( I'm sorry to hear about all your heart aches this Christmas. I wish you much strength!

Anna, so sorry all this is happening to you. My thoughts are with you for your grandmother.

Oh Ama. :( I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandma. It's never easy to lose a loved one, but this time of year seems especially hard. At least you will have time off work to spend with her in her last days and will be around family too. Sorry about your student loan payment too. Hopefully you can find a solution to make that easy to bear too. Hugs to you.

Ama, I am so sorry to read this. You have a lot on your plate right now. As for your Grandma, she will most likely be right where she most wants to be in her final days, among those who love her the most. May you find the peace to get you through this very difficult time, thinking of you and sending a big hug.

Ama, I am sorry to read this. Please know that you will be on my mind in my heart ...

I feel with you, just like all the other girls. The world might be big, but I hope we can all make you feel a bit better by sending our thoughts and compassion to you.
Losing a loved one is always so hard. And you have those extra worry going on.
As Anne said, hold your boy close to you and hug him...

Ama, I'm so sorry! Pulls at the heart strings. Sorry about the student loan - that bites!

Hugs!

:( So sorry to hear all of this Ama. Praying for your family as you spend a little more time with your Grandma, and hoping you can figure out your student loan stuff - debt STINKS, and makes things stressful.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother, Ama. I hope that posting here & reading everyone's words of support will lift you up a bit. I also hope that, in the new year, you can work things out with your student loan debt. All the best to you & your family at this difficult time.

Thank you for all the well wishes; I am trying to do things I enjoy this holiday to lift my spirits. Today was a crummy one though.

Hugs Ama, what an awful series of events. Hugs for you as you watch your grandmother's last days.

Big Hugs Ama... thinking of you especially with your Grandmother. I know that it is very hard... my thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sorry! My grandfather died on Christmas Eve one year and Christmas was really hard for a while. (((hugs))) Hopefully things turn around soon.
