Do you have any? We usually burn our Christmas tree on New Year's Day but my boys are out of town with the Youth and I haven't removed the decorations yet :giggle

Otherwise, we are totally low key here. No black-eyed peas or collard greens.

What are you doing today (besides hanging out here with me)?

Is sleeping in a tradition? :giggle We took the ornaments off the tree and I asked DH to move it to the balcony (it's potted) but he hasn't yet. Otherwise just relaxing and scrapping!

This is the day I take down the Christmas decorations. I sometimes start a bit sooner, but it just doesn't seem right to have everything all put away before the new year.

UGH. I was hoping to continue organizing photos and digi, and scrapping today.

OH, and I almost forgot...

FOOTBALL.

My Gators play in the Cotton Bowl so I'll be watching that for sure :)

Relaxing, scrapping, getting everything on my computer set up for the new year...and maybe a little cleaning LOL

Usually our main NYD tradition is having fondue for dinner, but we're postponing that until Sunday since Jessica would throw a fit missing out and it doesn't reheat well. hahaha.

A little bit of book organizing will be a focus of today, but that isn't tradition.

The last few years, MOC has been my New Year's Day tradition! Usually it's a cleaning day for me - clean out the fridge, clean out the closets or my desk. There's something about the new year that makes me want to start fresh with things~

My only tradition is to reset the counter in my camera so it's at 0001 again for 2016.

And check out what the 1st challenge for MOC is!

Um hello? Reset the camera counter?? I must go see if I can do this!

My camera uses date/time as filename, but on any of the other cameras I've had... I wish I had thought to do that! Genius.

It's my Canon dslr. It has a date time feature, but I love being able to see how many photos I've taken in the year. And the counter is the easiest way to do that!

Traditions, sleeping in is high on the list. I made it to 6:15am today...woo hoo a 30 minute sleep in for me. My 17 year old is still out, and it is almost noon, and his two youngest brothers are already down for a much needed nap (cause they didn't sleep in) from the festivities of staying up til midnight!

My only tradition for New Year's Day involves food, either making it or going out. :yup

Because of MOC4 starting I decided we'd stay home so hubby has thrown some ribs and steaks on the grill and I've made a really gorgeous salad. We'll have sweet potatoes, too. After we eat I'll start cleaning files on my Imac, deleting a BUNCH of stuff, and get everything all backed up. And thennnn ... I'll work on my LO for MOC4 Day One! I'm really excited to dig in and get started with it ... crossing my fingers hard that I'll have the stamina to make it to the end! :tu

No traditions here, but I think we may have started one.

We are having a no kids game night tonight. I pretty much invited everyone on my facebook friends list (who live close). It's going to be a packed house. If it goes well we might do it every year!

BTW - It's not such a great idea to open up in a new store, host a game night & have family over all in the same week! #itsbeenacrazyweek

We're hanging out... napping (the dogs mostly, but at least one child), watching/listening to football - M GO BLUE!...
I did my page for Day 1 of the MOC. Proud of myself - not my best page, but it is the first one I've done in almost a year! Struggling with CS2 on my Windows10. Grrr! Hubby took oldest son with him to a meeting at the Eagles club - the entertainment committee put on one awesome party last night, they need to "close" the books on the party.

Tomorrow we will be attending the funeral for my sweet neighbor lady. :( She was one of my kids' extra-grandmas. She babysat for my oldest when he was little. She would get my kids off of the bus for me if I couldn't make it home in time. She is going to be very missed. My oldest actually said he was going to miss helping carry in her groceries and taking her trash to the curb.

I hope everyones' 2016 is off to a great start!!

We had New Years lunch with family - yes, black eyed peas & greens - now we are back home relaxing. Hoping for a New Years nap, but already have my first MOC layout done and a blog post done. Off to start the January book for the reading pad book club & find a "z" or two - the tree will come down this weekend some time.

We DeChristmasfy the house... and then clean it all up... then we sit and watch movies, play games, and relax. I will commence scrapping now, lol!

We usually take down all the Christmas stuff on NY Day but I got ants in my pants on the 27th and did it then :) I've scrapped 2 pages today (which is huge, I haven't scrapped in weeks!) and we have friends coming for supper, but pretty low key

Let's see. Traditionally it's a laidback day (which is pretty laidback since we have become couch potatoes on the weekend) Last year I spent it asleep -- literally. Kept falling asleep while on the computer. But I was also sick. This year I'm in a reflective thankful mood. Last year was really hard. I was scared of December as you probably realized, but my son did great. He allowed himself to grieve when needed and helped plan a Christmas of different sorts here. We had a really good holiday season. My other son worked on Christmas and should be considering Amazon his personal Christmas elf. He's still working on when he can come home (hours were cut across the board just before Christmas so new budget).
So I'm just really relaxed (which I haven't been in months) and soaking in the New Year. (and sorry for such a long answer).
