Six years ago we made the decision that I would stay home from work and be with the kids once DD was born. In order to do that, we traded in our brand new car and bought a used 2000 mini van. It served its purpose - drove. It was a piece of work though. Every month it developed a new quirk that made it a strong runner for 'vehicle with the most personality' awards!!
thursday night, after MUCH research and waiting and planning, we finally FINALLY took it to the dealership, and traded it in for a new van!
We got a Toyota Sienna, and I. LOVE. IT!!!
it feels SO nice to sit in a nice, new vehicle. To look at the gas guage and actually believe that it is showing me the actual amount of gas in the tank. To roll down the automatic window and be able to roll it back up automatically without needing to manually assist it. All good things! There are no crazy 'check engine' or 'traction control error' messages on the dash. And it smells so new and clean!!
I may just sit in my garage in my van for the next few days. I can't even tell you how much I appreciate being able to finally get a new vehicle. The only down side is that we haven't had a car payment in YEARS. So that's a little stinky. But we were able to get really manageable payments on it, so it's still okay.
Just thought I'd share my new excitement!!!

DH is the stay home parent so he drives it around.
