New but Not improved | Pad Patter 1 Mar

I don't like subscription software (Like CC) that is constantly updated and over-bloated requiring a new computer more often just to run the software. I studied Programming way back and we used to be marked on succinct clever coding. Now it is just patch patch, borrow code from somewhere/someone else and just put it in. Then another patch to fix the new errors. No time for clever coding now...

Another peeve of mine is not being able to change batteries in phones. So battery dies and I need a new phone. Built in obsolescence drives me crazy!

I called my boss to let him know what was going on and that I would be back from lunch late. He got in his car and came to help. My bestie and her husband came to help. Turns out, it wasn't my fob battery but the car battery. Everything stopped functioning.
Lucky for you to have a kind boss and such good friends! I'd have called it a day too! Hadn't even thought about the car battery running things at that stage, but it's making me think old fashioned 'key in lock' had far less risk and potential problems associated with it!

Washing machines!! Front loaders/top loaders water efficient, etc. They do NOT get the clothes clean and run twice as long if they go off balance. We have to add water at the beginning of the wash to make the load "heavier" so that they is enough water to even wash the clothes. They don't get the soap out either. We put in WAY less than the recommended amount.
AND they don't spin enough to get the water out, so it takes twice as long to dry. We aren't talking a cheap machine/dryer combo either!!
i agree with this, we bought a front loader to save space and water after years of having to manually change the settings with the dial on our top loader because it would get stuck and just sit there at the end of each cycle, but i think it washed better - no computer parts and built old fashioned tough, i regret thinking how much a hassle it was to have to change cycles for it all the time - this one beeps at me all the time like it just wants attention; the dryer we rarely use but it plays a bunch of annoying beepy songs like a fanfare every time it's done the only thing it can do - our old dryer was a lot more humble!

did you know that you can go into your Settings and turn off your locater! That's the very first thing I do when I buy a new phone.

I did know that. Funny enough, I actually make sure it's turned on! I love going into Google Maps and seeing what we did on a day in the past. Especially with Project Life.
It's more the apps that listen in on you and your conversations that bug me.

Recently they changed the formula for my daughter’s toothpaste that she had used for years. After that we had to switch toothpaste because she had an allergic reaction every time she used it.

I also cannot stand how food is processed. Even “fresh” food has so much added to it when it is growing!

Don’t even get me started on all the changes in the schools! Really- it is my hot button topic. I am a former teacher who now Homeschools. I will say we are learning cursive (our schools no longer do), we learn to do all math that we can with pencil and paper (obviously some upper math requires calculators), and we do research with a mix of books and technology.
