How ironic that I am posting the pad patter late today. I couldn’t think of a topic so after googling I see it’s National Be Late for Something Day! Lol It’s also Labor Day in the states so many people are off from work today making it a long weekend. But back to being tardy.
Are you usually an early bird, or are so you tend to be late? I usually am early but hubby is usually late so that makes for a very interesting relationship at times.

If we're talking about physically being somewhere, in general I tend to be early or on time. If I'm late, it's because something unusual and unexpected and beyond my control popped up. I don't mind too much when others are a bit late unless it's something really time critical, but I really hate being late myself. It stresses me out!

Now deadlines for turning things in are a whole other story. :blush :giggle

I'm usually an early bird. I was shocked when a friend told me many years ago that she'd rather be late than early.

However, since having kids, I've gotten more relaxed about being late because while I could make sure I'm always on time, it gets complicated when several other people are involved. Just today we were late to an event.

I used to be early...but ever since COVID struck and there were mandator stay at home and work days...it seems I reverted into turtle mode. And move slow. Which puts me behind often (and therefore a bit late).

Early, but I’ve learned to sit in my car until the appointed time after my sister fussed at me for showing up too early for T’giving dinner one year. Oops! In my defense, I was only 15 minutes early and with the usual congested traffic in this area I expected to arrive on time.

I'm one of those "If I'm on time, I'm late" people. If there's one thing in life that gets me stressed, it's being late lol Just ask my kiddo when I'm trying to get him out the door in the morning :giggle

But yes, also guilty :hide

Depends. When it comes to my kids' extracurricular activities, (music lessons, dance, Ninja, chess, archery, etc...) I tend to push it to the last minute. We are usually right on time or a minute or two late. We live within 10 minutes of most of their activities and don't really have to deal with traffic so I know the exact minutes it takes to get to their activities. Most of them are group classes so I don't feel too bad about it...not too crucial. If I'm tutoring or leading something, I'm definitely a 15-minute early person. I don't want to feel rushed. I'd rather have extra minutes to get everything in order.

I am an odd mix of both? I don't like to be late for doctor's appointments, but I will push the time to the last minute if I'm going to church. I like to be right on time, or either 5 minutes before or 5 minutes after, for family events.

I'm very much an I'd rather be 1/2 hour early than 5 minutes late kind of person. However, having kids and many places to be has made me much closer to on time nowadays. I still hate being late!

I'm one of those annoying people that shows up too early. Lol. I absolutely hate being late. Getting my two boys and hubby to church on time seems like mission impossible every single weekend and it drives me crazy! My hubby and I also work at the same place. He's happy to drive into the parking lot right at starting time and I can't stand that! I want to be in my office 20 minutes early so I can clean out my inbox and be ready to work on time. So we often drive separately just so I can go in earlier.

I don't like being late. Even when someone is picking me up, I'm ready at least 5 to 10 minutes before the specified time. In nice weather I'll sit outside and wait for them. Except when they tell me a time and show up 10 minutes early! Happened a couple weeks ago. But she only had to wait for me to put my shoes on.

Back in high school I ran around with 2 girls all the time. We usually met at one girl's house since it was located in the middle. The other girl was always late. I'm talking over 15 minutes all the time. We got to the point that we would tell her a time 30 minutes earlier than we actually wanted to leave so she'd be on time. The 3 of us were never late to where we were going after that! The other girl and I were concerned about her because she was going into nursing... but she surprised us and arrived at classes and shifts on time.

So... I am a running late person. But, I'm also from the Northeast, so not too late, and always ready to go, lol! We move fast up here... but I'm just not always on time. :P

I do have to say, if it's for my kids, I'm early.

I prefer to be a little bit early or right on time. My oldest child HATES being late.
