So, I've been looking through all the wonderful pages in the 'Imperfect Photo' challenge. I have enjoyed looking at each and every one of them so much and didn't see any of them as having an imperfect photo!
:idea2

So my New Year's Resolution is..............to scrap more imperfect photos! have realised that it really is the MEMORY that is important. As long as you tell the story that goes with the photo, the page will be great. So thank you everyone for creating beautiful LO's with your 'imperfect' photos and inspiring me so much :love And a huge thank you to Kim for setting the challenge in the first place :beat

@KarenB you are too sweet! (thank you for your comment on my layout btw! :heartlub)

I always pick the best photos I have for my layouts and yesterday, I realized that sometimes those not so good have such magic! besides, the story behind them can be really precious and worth scrapping indeed :).

I love the story, oh how I love the story. So many of my kids while learning to read, would pull out the photo books and sound out the story. They now all have them memorized and are quick now to tell me my miss spells and such. But I love every page as the memories continue.

true story and not slamming photographers or those with big cameras. I had a Rebel for about a year, lots of bells and whistles. Sold it. Ihad the newest smart phone, amazing photo. Sold it.
I now have a tiny point and shoot, that I adore. The photos are not like the other two..but I didn't take photos with those. The Rebel, was a hassle, the phone a pain to get to camera...hahha
I dont need professional equipment, I need to get those pics taken and into books!

@dagi I am so glad you agree and see the 'magic' too. I can honestly say that I enjoyed the pages for this challenge more than all the others (and believe me, I have enjoyed them all) I think it's the fact that life is captured very much as it happened. Which, as memory keepers, is what we are all aiming for anyway :)

I agree. I thought the photos were all pretty great. I think I'll make the same resolution. This week I'm scrapping the photos my son took with his phone from the winter classic road trip he took with his brother and two friends over New Years. The photos aren't that great, but I'm sure the memories will be.

I love this resolution! I had a hard time over the last two years with guilt that I wasn't pulling out my big camera more often, but when I look back at the pictures I did take with my phone, I'm so glad that I did because those are the in-the-moment pictures and that capture our real life and I'm so thankful to have them! :)

@Karen Same here. It's the pictures i don't take too much time over that evoke the strongest memories.

I totally agree... imperfect, perfect, all have a story that can be shared!

I've been slacking on taking pictures lately... and I've resolved to taking more pictures with my phone. It has a great camera, and I have to get over the blurriness that sometimes bothers me. Often times, and I tend to forget, I can edit my picture to fix the problem, or figure out a way to "hide" it.

The challenge is a prefect reminder of that!

totally agree with you! what a unique and awesome scrappy related resolution! i still have to do this challenge -it's my goal for today - i love the challenge and LOVE the pages made so far - i think my problem is which ONE to use. i have so many! could totally do an entire album for this challenge alone.

Great scrapping resolution! The important thing is that we document those memories! This challenge is on my list for today and I too found so much inspiration for it in the gallery!

I've scrapped my funky pics out of necessity. I have a new cell phone & the pics are always blurry. I have a camera that I either can't find or haven't charged when needed. So, I take pics with my cell phone regardless of whether they're great or not. I use them because that's what I have. I did contact LG though, they think my autofocus isn't working right on my phone & they want me to send it in to fix it. I really need to do that.

My resolution should be 1) to designate a place for the camera & charge it, 2) send in my phone to be fixed.

Totally agree! I tend to go to my 'good photos' first but I have kept all of my bad photos too! can't seem to hit the delete key! lol. I have used imperfect photos before on my layouts and normally I go with blending or artsy type techniques to 'hide' the imperfections..... but it's certainly the memory that a bad photo evokes that makes me keep them! :)

Some of my favorite and most-commented-on LOs are with pics I had skipped over because they were so bad, but then later decided to scrap anyway. Sometimes I find a photo treatment or blend mode or strategically-placed cluster to hide the problem, and sometimes I'm just like, oh whatever, it's blurry, get over it. LOL It's something I'm constantly reminding myself to do. Good resolution! :agree
