I did some major damage!
I was using my laptop on the bed in our hotel room on Friday, waiting for DH to be done with work. I was actually scrapping, I got up to put the SD card back in the camera, but I tripped over the power cord, and my poor laptop came crashing down all the way from the bed to the floor. Yikes!!
I was incredibly lucky, though, because the hard disk didn't break. The only damage was the screen not working anymore (I believe it might be just something that got disconnected, so possibly we can fix that too). But until we were able to go back to the office and connect my laptop to an external monitor, I had nightmares of having to go through restoring data from the online backup, and all the hassles. Phew!
Of course, all this happened two days before my tech guy has to go out of town, so the timing couldn't be worse. Anyway, my laptop was not working very well to begin with, so DH now wants to get me a proper one, and we're looking into an Apple Air.
I don't really want to spend that much money, but the appeal of such a small computer is winning me over.
He's making me a virtual machine of my laptop at the moment, since I do need Windows for work, and I will be testing it on my Mac desktop this week to see if it's a good option to use on the Air.
