Do you guys remember me telling you that my 5 year old son fell on a scooter NYE and broke his humorous?
Everything was going really well with his cast. He was taking good care of it but as it heals he gets a little wilder. Well Sunday night my daughter had a friend over and the 3 of them were upstairs messing around. We don't know the exact details of what happened but Jaxon's arm got pushed back over his head. He started screaming, like a blood curdling scream.
We weren't sure if he had just pulled something, was just scared because he had broke that arm, or if something was wrong. We talked with his doctor and decided to just watch him over night. We gave him Tylenol and sent him to bed. He was up at 10:30 screaming, more Tylenol and ice. At 6am I checked on him, took the ice pack and just barely adjusted him.. screams in his sleep. Then we were all awoken at 8:30 with even more screams because he had apparently rolled over.
So.. off to the doctor we went. Doctor tried removing his sling and the amount of crying so so horrible he instantly said we had to take him straight to the ortho. Got the othro an hour later. Lots of screaming, crying, and one xray later we found out Jaxon broke his shoulder!!
He know has a broken elbow & shoulder. So he's wearing a cast, immobolizer, no school for at least 2 weeks, well no leaving the house for 2 weeks, and pain meds. The doctor said that his cast worked as a type of leverage, so when his arm was bent it broke his shoulder.
My poor boy
