My Kitchen....ugggh!

mariska yours is my favorite.. I love white open cool lines.. perfect.. LOL I have nothing to add to this thread at ALL ... I just wanted to state that I was staring at and rating everyone's kitchens haha
 
Okay now I seriously want to paint my cupboards white, any tips for that? Hmmm Wonder if i can talk the hubby into it...
 
Do they have to be real wood or can they be that laminate stuff or whatever it is? Im not sure what are cupboards are but i know they arent solid real wood.

nope.
don't have to be real wood.
although my doors are solid oak.
the side panels and lots of it are just laminate.
still, just lightly sand it.
roughing it up.
i suggest using a paint WITH primer.
or you'll have to do LOTS of coats of primer, and then a couple coats of paint.
i used minwax satin polycrylic to protect my cupboards.

i always buy canvases from hobby lobby to paint and customize to my home!
 
okay one more question lol did you paint them with a brush, roller, spray gun?

i used a tiny foam roller!!!

it's awesome!!!!!!!!
leaves absolutely NO streaks.
i got that at home depot.
but for the minwax polycrylic i used a special brush.
(it was kind of expensive. i can't remember the name, i'll look it up and post it)
that brush is amazing. it ALSO leaves no streaks.
it was almost $30 but sooooo worth that!
 
Jacque, i want that kitchen. I've been planning to redo my ugly kitchen for ages but don't have the motivation. You inspire me.
 
it sure is slow going.
if we had the funds, i'd be SO done with it.
but since we don't.
we are doing a LOT ourselves.
i'm doing A LOT by myself.
counters and floors have me stumped.
paint is all picked out.
and bought.
just gotta do it.
but i need to paint the ceilings too!
(the previous owners had everything painted a peachy cream...walls and ceilings)
ugh.
i want white.
at least they didn't paint the doors and baseboards.
UGH.
 
I love all these ideas! our kitchen is bleck. I want to paint my cabinets but I have been afraid I would ruin them or it would be too hard...
