...well, it died.
Suddenly, I wasn't even on it, the screen went black and I thought it went onto sleep mode, I moved the mouse as I need it on as it is networked top the old Mac where I scrap....but nothing happened.
I cried.
Lots.
Then Sarita texted my friend Clement who always is my computer p[erson
He emailed us a few options and Sarita ended up trying it all with him on the phone on & of...
Safe mode: it brings us to the password log in but then it goes black
we even did recovery mode and re install the operating system....it did it, but then is a black screen again.
I made an appointment to take it to store....next available appointment was for next Tuesday.
I was able to back up to one of my EHDs the photos, so,me downloads and some documents... I can see the contents of the new iMac when I look with this old Mac...so I moved my entire iPhoto and some downloads....and I know the data isn't lost, it maybe some hardware problem..which I put it down the fact that the make them so thin that any bump can move a piece or a wire out of place...who knows, now I need to wait .
so, if you see me but seems like I am not giving you attention... is mainly because this computer am on now, my old Mac, can only be on browser for 10 or 15 minutes, then starts giving me that pop up telling me the script has trouble and sop I want top stop the script and then crashes...
I spent the whole afternoon trying to connect the keyboard to the mini iPad and failing, when Sarita is back, I ll get her to do it, so I maybe able to communicate... but right now I'm a bit angry as I really did NOT need this right now, the carer girl broke the coffee machine, then my washing machine...but I was dealing with it all relatively well thinking ahead and happily scrapping..... I'm trying to concentrate on the thought that being angry wont take me anywhere...easier said than done.
Anyway... just wanted to let you know.

On the other hand, we had a nice Christmas (at least the computer waited until we did everything and ate and laughed and watched all those movies and ate even more !!!)
Hope you all enjoyed time with family... I need to get myself sorted to start MOC, something top look forward to now!!!!

Oh Cynthia, I am so SORRY... I hope that you will have good news. My laptop died earlier this year, October??? But it was my own fault. I was sipping tea (with some oils in it) in the dark, and I apparently sloshed it all over the keyboard. My motherboard was fried. I actually was able to salvage the hard drive & use it to copy over a few things thatthe external hard drives were duplicating. Life is not fun when your communication & art tools are causing you grief. Keeping my fingers crossed for positive news. :-)

:( Hopefully you can get everything sorted out and the new Mac will work again! Not having a nice (and nice just means "in working condition") computer to work on is SOOOO annoying!

Hoping things are looking up, Cynthia! I dread this!

Yikes. I have had the logic board in my macbook pro replaced twice (both at no cost due to the extended repair for video issues that plague my model). It's a pain and very worrisome. Sending positive vibes your way.

@MrsPeel Does this mean you have to cart it into the store by Liberty? Our babies sure are bulky to cart around aren't they! But under 2 years and it should be up and running by Wednesday with a bit of adjustment by the Apple Elves as I call them. :angel

Oh no! That's too bad, Cynthia. I hope you get your computer sorted out quickly!

thanks girls. I'm looking into borrowing next door boys' computer to at least be able to come hang around a bit this weekend.
I spent the day at the cardiology department yesterday, finally they diagnosed me with the 2nd heart condition which at least has a long name that means my left ventricular chamber stopped working, they want me to take a bunch of pills (to add to the many I already take) but no surgery involve at this stage which is a good thing.

Maureen, Sarita is working Tuesday so my friend Clement will come with me... this imac is actually very light, which to me is the reason they can break easier.... but yes, is a bulk.... I wont drive as is in the West End (Regent Street) and even with the disable badge is expensive to park...if you get a parking space.
I have disabled discount taxis, so we ll do that... @cookingmylife
thanks again !!!!!!

@MrsPeel Glad to hear the govt has some benefits for you with the disabled discount taxies. Handicapped stickers/plates allow you to park in disabled spots free though there are always the #%@$ rude non-disabled ones who park there and sadly rarely get ticketed or towed.
