My god kids vocabulary

Whats wrong with speaking properly,My 12 year old neice came christmas and instead of saying "oh thats funny " like we would she says "LOL" now guess what my 9 year old keeps saying it now why cant kids speak properly he he,or is it just me getting old!

Oh yes colleen i can so relate thats another one id forgotten about,in my day i was pulled up if i just spoke common let alone abbreviate everything,ok thats it im turning into my parents NOOO!

thankfully my kids have not yet picked up this trend, but i hear it in the stores quite often. coming out of mouths of teeny tiny kids.
