I know I chat a lot about my DD and her skating, but I'm not sure if I've ever posted her programs here for people to watch. I was holding off until she competed in Showcase Nationals this past summer, but I believe with the craziness of our summer I neglected to post them. So, here are her two programs if you'd like to see them. She competed them for the last time today at the South Atlantic Regional Non-Competitive Competition in Aston, PA (she got a first and second place, respectively). So, it's off to learning new programs for the coming year!

Thanks for indulging me!

First, her Dramatic Entertainment program (this one always makes me cry!). She came in 5th at Nationals with this program. <- proud mom moment!

And this is her Light Entertainment program (she came in 5th in her grouping):

Those were amazing, Jan!! Oh my, she is so talented! It is obvious how much time and training she (and you) has put in! I know you are one proud mama! Loved them both!!

Amazing!! I started crying before the first one even started!! How wonderful!!

Huggles!!

So awesome! I love how she maneuvered the chair around in the first one. That's not easy - especially since the chair is unpredictable. The green dress in the second one is super cute!

Wow! Those were both amazing! You must just burst with pride watching her hard work shown off in those routines!

Awww!! Congratulation, she's amazing!! How long has she been skating? Figure skating has always been fun to watch!

Thank you all for your kind comments! She's absolutely die if she knew I posted them on here. Facebook is bad enough, she says.

She's been skating 7 years. She started "old" at 10, but she's been in love with it ever since she started.

Wow! It’s like theater on skates! Awesome!
Yes, Showcase is just that! There are no "rules" of what you must do except for a few prop and costume guidelines (on/off in 30 seconds, nothing can fall off onto the ice like feathers) and that's why she loves it so much. Freestyle (what you see at all the major competitions) is extremely stressful and cutthroat, and she's just not into that anymore. She did skate with a Theater on Ice team this year, but chose not to join this year. Those competitions are fun to watch!

Aww!! She shouldn't be embarrassed of you posting her videos!!! You'd never know she started at 10, it comes naturally to her!!

Both those videos are amazing. The one with the chair, it must have been so difficult to make sure the chair ended up exactly where she needed it next, but she did it with ease. You must be one proud mom!

Absolutely amazing, Jan. You have every right to be one proud mama!! Please relay my congrats to her!! :clappy
