plus I have been keeping a virus at bay, I got through (I think) a Flash Player update. I have a great Fire Wall, am on iMac- Little Snitch pops up warning for everything wanting to come in or out, but my computer is terribly slow, flashing menus so I can't click on anything, and my scrapping program works for 5 minutes and then stops....so I have to restart the whole machine...

I'm getting a new one but a friend will be installing, so until at least next week am on either Sarita's computer or our mini iPad (which with my rheumatism and arthritis is not much of an option to type :(

just wanted to let you know.

Also : be really really careful, if you update Adobe Flash Player, that you are updating from the Adobe web site.......
I'm still not sure what is what, but as I have been saving for a new Mac for 2 years (my iMac is almost 8 years old, people usually keep them 5 years) after upgrading memory and having 2 almost full external hard drives.... but it ll take a while until I install all I need
Hope this will be soon
prayers, good thoughts, all welcome :)

Prayers and good thoughts coming your way, Cynthia. Hope things work out for you soon. Hang in there! :beat

good luck cynthia ... that certainly is no fun at all ... you will get there and it will be better than it was with the NEW. thinking of you and hoping it goes smoothly!

I totally HATE it when the computer dies. It has happened to me twice. Good luck with all the restoring of data and programs. I hope you are feeling better, soon, too. Hang in there.

Just a thought, and I don't know if you can do it on a Mac, but after you get your new computer up and running ( that will be great,I am sure it will be fantastic to work on something that doesn't stop and start all the time.) Perhaps you can get your old one scrubbed... here it costs 35 euros to have your computer completely cleared of everything, really cleared no bits and pieces hanging about in hidden memory corners. No programs either you have to 're install, but most programs allow y out to run on 2 computers -CraftArtist - does. At least you would have a spare, even just to use for browsing or catchup tv...

thanks so much girls :) I'm having some TV catch up which is kind of nice... we catched the very first episode of Castle when we were at my parents' in Argentina, so I decided to go and watch it as we enjoyed the first episode (I had heard a lot about it, including in threads here, but never had stopped to watch) so I went for it and finished last night with season 4!!!!!!! loving those two!!!!

You know I had a thought about running Craft Artist on the old one only.... as I use it with a program called Parallels, which runs a virtual Windows computer on Mac, maybe that is the reason it stopped working now....
I have my friend who comes to help who can re format it, I'm quiet sure that means re installing the system, again... thanks for the reminder Vivi!!!!!!!!

renne you know the saying the "there's an app for that" well here at TLP you might be the "there's a post for that" equivalent. you think of everything! xoxo

While it stinks to be in limbo between computers, it is exciting to think about getting a new computer soon! I hope the transfer goes smoothly and you'll be up and speedy scrapping again soon! :)

I'm going to be needing to do some updating on my own computer pretty soon. My main hard drive that runs all of my programs is a SSD drive, but it is smaller because of the cost of SSD drives, well a couple weeks ago, it was almost full and started giving me errors about corruption... mostly .dlls and some of my fonts, but I think I'd better get that taken care of before everything goes wonky on me. I'm just dreading it.

Sorry about your computer. But glad you have a new one coming! Hope all goes well with the switch.

Good luck Cynthia! hope everything goes your way!

I just moved to a new laptop myself - having dropped the previous one that i loved!! it took me some getting used to the new one...but i am slowly getting there :)...there's light at the end of this tunnel - so hang in there and dream of your next imac! :)
