My 8-Year-Old's first layout!

Meagan wanted to learn how to scrapbook and make pages like I do. So we sat down and I walked her through a pretty simple page in PSE. We used drop shadow layer styles...wasn't about to tackle teaching her how to make her own shadows :giggle
But I thought she did a good job!



If you want to leave her some love, I'll pass along the messages... I know she would feel very encouraged!! Thanks :beat

Gee I wish my first page looked that good (and I was a LOT older than 8 years old!) .... well done Meagan!

I am wicked impressed! We did photoshop as a homeschool class, I had teens, and wow, her page blows theirs away!
 
that's fantastic! my dd is 7.5 and wants me to teach her. maybe i should!
 
Tell her she did a fantastic job! Her first layout is so much better than my first digi layout that it's a little embarassing to me! :)
 
you guys are SO sweet! I will make sure she sees all of your kind comments before she leaves for school today!

she did a great job learning! the hardest part was actually teaching her to maneuver in the program - click this, hold shift, click that. It really helped TONS that they do technology in school every few days, so she understood right click, click and drag, shift+key, etc.
She thought it was pretty cool that you could get the photos to fit in the frames - I showed her 3 different ways: clipping, magic wand, and cutting off the excess with the marquee tool. i think the wand was her favorite... simplest i guess.
 
okay ladies... i just let her read all of your comments, and she was smiling ear to ear!! :)

and anne, she was CONVINCED that you were her music teacher - you bear a striking resemblance. :giggle
 
Seriously, she is only 8. I think her page is better than the one I did when I first started out. I think it rocks!!! :)
