I'm pretty much a mush ball - I cry at most everything, and I can't even be in the same room when the ASPCA commercials come on. In certain ways I have a heart of steel but over all I'm just a big softie.

What about you??

Total mush ball too. Although when the going gets tough, I'm a toughy!! :)

I feel you with the ASPCA commercials. I am pretty much a mush ball although, you do not want to get on my bad side... heart of steel then.

Me too....I have to look away at the SPCA commercials b/c I start to tear up and feel like my heart is breaking. I am a super big mushball. I have been watching Parenthood since it first started and last week was a blubbering fool as I watched the second to last episode. I can just imagine what I'll be like watching the finale this week.

I don't know if it has to do with getting older, but I'm definitely getting to be a softie! It sucks b/c I'll be watching something with my family and I have to get up and walk out b/c the silliest things make me tear up. :giggle

It depends on the environment. If it comes to my family, I am a total softie mush ball. I'm embarrassed to say I don't read mushy tear-jerker books or movies because I hate the sad feelings afterwards. And dear lord, can someone please ban those sad pet and child commercials. They are painful to see. But at work, I tend to be more of the second. I guess I compartmentalize so that I don't get caught up in the drama and can respond fairly and straigthtforwardly.

Steel heart... yep that's me. A hard a**. Part of my PTSD apparently. Although there are some special people in my world who see my soft side but I have to admit that it is a huge effort for me.
I'm not a bad person. I just don't have the capability. Empathy is a learned skill for me that I consciously have to use, it's not instinct like it is for most people. But I do try. Very much.

More steel heart... but I have a mushy center. It depends on the situation, person, and my own feelings.

I'm a steel heart. It takes a lot to make my cry. That doesn't mean that I'm not a caring person though. I tend to think about others feelings and put those first before my own way too often.

I totally cry over everything. It is ridiculous. There are shows I just don't watch (Parenthood... the last few episodes of The Closer... so many others) because I'll just cry. And those commercials. Yikes. My husband knows he has to turn the channel when they come on.

hmm lately I'm getting a bit too emotional while watching movies and that's strange :) I mean I can't watch again the fault in our stars. I cried the whooooooole movie!

Ha ha ha. You guys make me giggle. Such softies.
Mind you, I'm not all tough but it usually takes a veteran story or a broken person story to get me. I cried watching St Vincent with Bill Murray.

depends on the day for me, sometimes I just can't take it anymore and those are the days I can go either way - tough meanie or mush ball.
