Movies....what have you watched lately?

DH and I rarely get a chance to watch movies since my oldest (11) stays up reading in bed until 10pm during the summer, and then it's too late for me to watch a movie, I'll only get half way through it.

However, we did watch Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit last night and loved it. But then again, we loved Chris Pine as Captain Kirk in the Star Trek reboot movies - he does a phenomenal job.

My DD and I just watched The Grand Budapest Hotel. It was okay, but a little slow.

OMG, Cynthia! I can't believe you've never seen The Breakfast Club!!!

Dead Poets Society is one of my favorite movies of all time. I also loved Good will Hunting. The end always makes me cry.

Speaking of Ben Affleck... my DH and I aren't big movie watchers, but I've totally got it on my calendar to go see Gone Girl in October.

eta... The Muppets Most Wanted arrived in the mail, so we'll probably watch that again in the next day or so. I <3 Ricky Gervais.

I watched The Other Woman with Cameron Diaz and thought it was funny.

I too love We're the Millers and Horrible Bosses, natter of fact my son quotes from that movie all the time. He went to the theatre and saw Lucy, said it was pretty good but the end was confusing.


August Rush, City if Bones......can I say I have a HUGE crush on JRM?!
 
I not a movie fan but my husband took me to the cinema to see inbetweeners 2 omg it was so funny I loved it!

With Kids... TMNT at the theatre....

I wanted to see Guardians of the Galaxy, but was overruled. :( Soon...
I'm a big movie person and my kids are too... but DH is not. So, I usually wait for the more adult good movies to be on the TV movie channels (free cause of DH's job)
 
We like to go to the movies or rent on demand..

You will laugh with me, but I had never seen Avatar and now we did.
And I loooooooooooooooveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it!
 
I watched 'How I Live Now' when I was home sick yesterday. It's based on a book by Meg Rosoff... which I didn't actually like much. I felt there was so much unresolved at the end that it left me feeling very flat. Unfortunately the film was pretty much the same, though quite a bit neater at the end. The one thing I would say is that it deals with the internal dialogue of depression in the protagonist very well. Worth a watch but wait for it to pop up on TV!
 
my son wants to go see Let's Be Cops (think that's the title) and I want to see The Giver. We'll see if we make it to see either as this next week and a half is pretty busy and then school starts.

My favourite movie and it sometimes makes me cry is Fried Green Tomatoes.
 
We just watched Captain America Winter Soldier on Tuesday. It was good... better than the first one (I fell asleep during it both time I tried to watch it).
