Are you like me? Does waking up to morning sunshine make you feel good and elevate your mood?

I was sick all wkend (dental visit, then bacteria wrecking havoc in my body and now on antibiotics), basically spent 4 days in bed. Even though I am still feeling poorly, I woke up, saw the sushine and the temperature at 70 at 7:00 this morning and it made me happy, made me feel good. The sun is streaming thru my office window and makes me want to get out for a walk. I am hoping its not too busy a work day here for me (I work at home) and that I can take Taz out to the river (across the street) for a swim and I can get some fresh air. Living in BC we often get rain for days on end throughout the fall/winter/spring so this time of year is especially appreciated when we finally see more sunshine.

Im a totally morning person!

Im sorry to hear about your dentist visit! Going for my next cleaning in a few weeks and always hope no work needs to be done....

Awww, sorry to hear about all the not so great stuff! Miss Margaret (@londoncuppa) and I are twinkies. We wake up to rain and get all hyper and happy like you do with the sun! ^.^ Woke up Saturday to gentle rolling thunder and the sound of pattering rain (and I have an app called "Rainy Moods" ((yes, from the same website, they made it into an app!!)) that I listen to at night to help me sleep.) and it just made me so energetic and ready to face chores and everything else.

I hope you get that time and loooots of sunrays through your hair and lots of smiles!

Oh man...you didn't have a fun weekend at all :( hopefully the antibiotics kick in really soon!!

I'll send you some Valley sunshine!! We have plenty to go round...even on the days it rains, the sun is out at some point during the day.

Sorry you haven't been feeling well, Rae.

I rarely wake up to sunshine. I wake up so early that it's hours before the sun comes out.

We were supposed to have a sliver of sunshine this weekend, followed by rain. But the rain held off until Monday. I spent as much time outside as possible to take advantage of the 24C weather. (I have no idea what that is in Farenheit, but shorts and t-shirts weather).

Every time there's a weather conversion like this, I can't help but think of this and laugh:

Gosh, hope you're feeling better!!
But yes, big yes! I am a total morning person and the sunshine just makes me feel amazing and gives me so much energy!! On work days, I am up before the sun, but I watch it come up as I'm getting ready. Gloomy days are just not the same and we've had plenty of those lately!

100% yes. I love morning. And sunshine definitely cheers me up. I love that my bedroom windows are east-facing so I often wake up to sunshine pouring in. Have had a lot of gray days here in Virginia lately though. Just reading about morning sunshine in your post cheered me. :)

And @Serena your post with the screenshot made me laugh. :D

When I grew up in Ontario I didn't mind the rain so much b/c it usually didn't stick around all day and we didn't get a lot of it. In the summer the rain was nice to cool things off. I never even owned an umbrella all the years I lived there but when I moved to BC it was different. It's a much wetter climate all year round and doesn't have the warm rainfall that Ontario has.

I do love sunshine, but I don't want the humidity and heat that comes with it here in Florida most of the year. LOL But I do like having the blinds open and the sunshine streaming in.

I'm another one with @Serena and @londoncuppa . . . rainy days with pattering of rain and rolling thunder . . . oh man, they just make me happy. I love the overcast look we get here, especially when there's a break in the rain and there's a golden glow to everything. I love feeling snug in my home and actually makes me feel quite creative. The one thing I DON'T like about it as that my body definitely has a ton of extra pain and aches with thunderstorms . . . but I still love the rain in spite of that. My son loves rainy days, too!

I hope you feel better! I do love the sunshine and waking up to it is always nice! It poured rained here all day Monday but our weekend was filled with sunshine so I can't complain. :)

I am neither a morning person nor a night owl. I found a quote that resonated with me:
I don't rise and shine, I caffeinate and hope for the best.
I can totally rock 11am though! Total (non)party girl.
Because of the drought the Western Cape in experiencing - rain gets me excited and smiling.

I am a night person, who is forced to get up early, so it is usually dark when I get up! I do enjoy seeing sun much more than bleak, cloudy days.... but sometime I get to see the stars before the sun comes up, lol!

Aww, feel better Rae! Just have to say ... your outlook, despite what you've been through the last few days is so uplifting! That's just awesome!

I do like waking up to the sunshine too. It's been a little scarce here in NY though! I think we are going to have one of those bad wet summers. Ugh!

I am not a morning person, but I get up super early (out the door by 6:30 am for work) BUT this time of year the sun in up so much earlier that I actually get to see the sun before I go to work and it makes it so much easier to wake up! ...after I get used to it though. The first few days when the sun is coming up before my alarm I usually jump out of bed thinking I overslept! :giggle

I think we need to form a "Rain Rocks" club, Cheryl...lol.

I'm with you on the increased pain. I have an arthritic knee after having surgery on it. It's like having a built-in barometer. It always tells me when it's going to rain (and also when my husband's "old lady knee" jokes will begin).

So sorry about the dental stuff...it's the worst!

Yes, I'm a morning/sunshine person. I do like a good rainy day too...but those can be difficult with a lot of little kids running around inside! We went out for a nice hike this weekend and it did my soul good!

Growing up in western WA- I'm pretty used to the rain- but I have to say- now living in Eastern WA- where the sun is FAR more prevalent- I'm with you 100%! Waking up to the sun shining & usually a kiddo or two (and the dog!) jumping on my bed are probably my favorite things to wake up to! :)
