So we all are into creating gorgeous digital or hybrid scrapbook layouts and albums, but do you have any other creative passions/hobbies?

How do you balance between them??

Ha! I have ADD, which makes me hyperfocus. So, that said, right now I'm doing a lot of scrapping because I'm a Guest Polly the past two months, and it's been a blast! I've been purposely ignoring other things so I don't get sidetracked.

I bring knitting with me when I have to sit a lot - car trips, church services, and the like. It keeps me from getting the wiggles and makes me listen better. I sew whenever I get my sewing machine out, then I can't stop. I have more projects to complete than I can dare think of. I love wool and can't stop buying it!

That is my only advice. Why? I can't figure this out myself!

I have a new sewing/embroidery machine that I've had almost a year, but I'm hoping to in the new year. I love to do dressmaking and quilting and whatever else catches my eye. But it's been a tough year around here and I've lost the desire to sew for the time being.

I've gotten supplies to do needle felting, but I've yet to sit down to make the hummingbirds I wish to create (check out Sarafina Fiber Art to see the wonderful stuff she offers!). I discovered needle felting at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival.

I purchased a stack of needlework and knitting books while in Sweden this past summer that I still need to study and translate, but I've been drooling over the projects and photos in the books thinking about what I could make from them.

I have too many WIPs (works in progress) and UFOs (unfinished projects) laying around the house to remember what there is. This isn't counting I promised my dad I'd bring a special train of his around to train shows and clubs to show it off, something else I've needed to do. He's been gone almost 10 years now and I haven't done a thing.

And I've about 12 scrapbook albums that I'm simultaneously trying to complete. Aaah!

So, sorry for going on and on. But I'd love to hear how other people figure this out!

I still make paper cards- I'm in a Stampin' Up club class that meets once a month to make cards. It's my way of still using paper goodies- without the mess it makes for paper scrapbooking!! ;)

I also make cupcakes! I make them for all my co-workers birthdays, random friends/family baby/wedding showers & birthdays too! It's quite ironic, as I'm a dental hygienist by trade- but make super yummy "terrible for your teeth" goodies! :D

As far as fitting it all in- well, if you find a good resource to help with that let me know! ;) Right now I haven't done much cards besides my monthly class & for cupcakes, it's a birthday deadline that gets me in the kitchen!

I crochet when travelling... even our Sunday driving to where we attend worship only a 25 minute drive away. Living in a small country town... 25 minutes to drive to shopping I also do a little crocheting... you see my husband is the driver. I can drive but I let him do it as I do not really like driving our big car.

I also do cardmaking using rubber stamps and have just finished our Christmas cards for posting off which I hope to do this weekend after I type up our yearly letter to send with them.

I've started doing some hybrid and paper crafting again and really enjoy it. I still have most of my paper crafting stash (and lots of it) and I've enjoyed getting back into using some of that again. (I don't enjoy the mess I make, but that goes along with it.) I used to crochet a lot and have been thinking of doing that again. I love to read. I always have my Kindle with me if I know I'm going to have time on my hands. I love photography too. I haven't ever been diagnosed with ADD, but I always have lots of projects going on at once. I often read two books at the same time - I've done that since I was a kid. My mom (who didn't like to read) could never "get" how I could read two books at once. I really love to learn - besides reading for pleasure. My love for learning also takes up quite a bit of the time I spend on my computer. The rest of my computer time is spent digi scrapping.

I can't balance them- that's why I have half a cupboard full of jewellery /beading stuff & abandoned cross-stitch & stuff I bought with the intention of learning to knit & crochet, and paints .... And I have a million things pinned and have yet to make (OK I made 1 dream catcher, but none of the driftwood rain charm things I got so excited about...) ... I figure at least scrapping works with my photography & I get to keep the end result ( I feel the need to give away everything else! )

I also paint. Walls. I love to take white walls and cover them with bright colors.
Yay! I don’t like white walls. Too plain!

I love to read cookbooks, cover to cover. I figure I’m multitasking by reading and menu planning at the same time!

I have always called myself a hobby collector. I really love the challenge of learning something new and especially if it's creative. So I crochet, kinda know how to knit, but I stink at that. I LOVE to paint... flowers mostly, but other abstract stuff too and I art journal when I find the time.

I've also done cross stitching, stained glass and TONS of jewelry making in the past, but those are less now.

I definitely like a change of pace, so currently I'm into a CAL (crochet-a-long) so I'm addicted to working on that project right now and my painting has suffered because of it. :giggle

BUT Digiscrapping is the one hobby that I have kept for the longest. I started in 2006 and love it just as much today as when I started. :) I think because I can keep creating and it doesn't make a big mess! :)

As for balancing it all... I just work on what I feel most inspired by and I don't stress about putting one hobby aside for a bit. If I force it, I don't feel inspired and it becomes a chore... so work on whatever inspires you! That's my advice!

for now Scrapping is my passion, but I do love to cross stitch and in the past have done folkart/primative painting. Last year I made the grand kids a snowman Christmas ornament instead of buying one. They seem to have liked it. Once I retire I would love to get back into painting I do love creating decorative pieces.

I crochet and go to a knit and crochet group every Monday night. Crocheting is my thing to do when I can't scrap. :-) I do it while watching movies or tv with my family or, like on Tuesday, when I have to wait somewhere for a long time (I had jury duty that day and got a LOT done on the blanket I'm working on).

I have a sewing project that I'm about to start, but I think of that differently... it's just a project I want to get done (sewing reusable holiday gift bags so I can cut down on wrapping paper waste) vs. a new hobby. Once that project is done, I don't see myself sewing again until I have another project to do.

I love to hear about how others figure this out too, that's why I asked. LOL

Do you ship yummy bad for my teeth cupcakes?! I'd pay!!!!

I crochet. I seriously enjoy it. I also love to see, but it is daunting to me to pull everything out. I like to do a project in one day.

Just plain walls here. LOL

I bet your cards are so pretty!!! I'd love to learn card making...but I know I wouldn't have time.

I used to read lots. And I could read more than one book concurrently too. I need to open my Kindle!

I can't balance them- that's why I have half a cupboard full of jewellery /beading stuff & abandoned cross-stitch & stuff I bought with the intention of learning to knit & crochet, and paints .... I think I would give away things I made by hand too, so at least scrapping I get to keep.

I agree, when I force myself it feels like a chore!

Oh I bet the ornament was very pretty!!! I'm sure as they get older it will become more treasured!

I always said I'd learn to knit....never have though. It does seem therapeutic.

For now digiscrap is my main hobby. I'm also a writer/poet and that is my "passion" .. the thing I will do as long as I'm breathing. That being said. I often find when I'm in a creative head space for writing, I don't want to scrap and vice versa. It's like the two creatives are opposite so it's a either or for me.

Thanks ladies, it's fun to see how others cope with a multicreative mindset

I started cross stitching when I was 14 but over the last several years it has been difficult for me to see it (biofocals can be tough for close up work).

I taught myself how to crochet when I was around 23 and do it on and off. I just started a new afghan that I really love the color so I do that on/off each night.

Scrapbooking is my main hobby and I find that this is what relaxes me each evening.

I have a huge number of hobbies. I can't do them all. Some I do regularly, other on rotation, some are on hold.

I did this not long ago, and I've noticed that I have a few additions to make including crochet, upcycling, and scenery building.
That's A LOT!!!!

I knit a little, when I get a chance and I do enjoy it. I'm working on a few Christmas gifts currently, just simple stuff. I also love to play with vinyl and my Silhouette. I make lots of decals for my family and their cars and walls. I've also done some mugs and travel cups. I mostly have to save things like that for school holidays or summer vacation.
