We watched our granddaughter Saturday (we have an every other Saturday routine) ... and I was so hoping to hear that precious word "GRAMMA".

I walked into their house a few minutes before my husband did. Harper was watching TV and when she saw me, she smiled, giggled and ran right towards me - hands outreached (at that point I was MUSH!)

I scooped her up and we hugged - and all of a sudden she looked over my shoulder and toward the door and said "Papa?". I. Give. Up. LOL!

It really doesn't bother me because it will come - it just cracks me up how much she loves her Grandpa!!!

You need to give yourself a nickname that she can say easily. G sounds don't always come easily... just like she's calling Grandpa Papa. :) That's why most babies say Da-da first... it's easier for them. Ha ha... She obviously loves you too or she wouldn't come running... Name yourself Cookie or something fun like that. ha ha! :)

My Son couldn't say Grandad - he called my Dad - DD (dee-dee)

Its stuck - He's 8 now and Grandad is still DD xx

When my granddaughter was two, she called me granpa. I have a phone message from three years ago still on my phone where she says: "Happy Valentine day granpa!: I just can't erase it.

Aww - that is adorable! Its funny, my son and my nephews went through phases, grandpa was the favorite for a long while, then Grandma was. Then back to Grandpa. No rhyme or reason. Your time will come, I'm sure!
