Are you a music person? I don't mean that you necessarily have to be knowledgeable about all music or up on current musicians or whatever... but do you just want to have music as part of your life?

My husband isn't a music person. It is one of those things that seems so strange to me. Like if it weren't for me, he'd never hear music unless it was in a commercial or show on tv. I'm not a huge fan of every kind of music or know tons about music as an art, but I really love to listen to the songs I enjoy. I can totally get carried away with certain songs. The only time I force my hubby to listen to music is in the car because I just cannot drive around without music on. And usually if he's in the car, I keep it to something fairly generic or something from the 70s. Butt some days, I feel like it is a huge bummer to turn off the music when he gets home from work, and I don't even think he appreciates the sacrifice because he just doesn't think that way. It is fine; it is just so different from me. And I don't really know where it came from because I don't really remember listening to music all of the time when I was growing up, and my grandparents certainly never listened to music at all when we were around... not even on the car radio. So it is just one of those things that I find interesting... where we find/grow/develop our interests.

So are you a frequent listener? Do you listen to all kinds of different music or do you stick to a favorite type? Do you have certain music you listen to when you are in certain moods? Are there songs that you live by as personal anthems? Do you have go-to songs that will cheer you up if you hear them?

I stick to top 40 usually. I have songs I loooooooooovvvveeee, for all of 5 minutes. (Currently, I'm loving Taylor Swift "wildest dreams"; American Authors "go big or go home"; Bea Miller "Fire n Gold")

I have to have music for working out (running). And I have to have it on in the car.

I cannot believe there are people who can drive or work out without it. Lol

Growing up, I basically never went without music. I find that now, I do enjoy it and I have music on a lot, but I don't *need* it the way I used to. I used to have music going even while I slept. DH and the kids also listen to music a lot, and I also find it strange when someone never does. I can understand liking different kinds of music than I do, but no music at all? I don't get it.

I have to get in a dose of music just about every day, even if it's only 15 or 20 minutes. I listen almost exclusively to rock and metal, but every now & then I like a little hip hop, rap or dance music. I can appreciate the talents of artists in other styles, but it's rare that I hear a song from other genres that I can honestly say I like.
