Does anyone know about Mom's Brands Club? I am wondering if they are legit? I clicked on this add this morning

and got an instant message from them. They asked for Amazon account email??? They said they would send the 17.97 to Paypal and I should use that to pay for the above item on Amazon. I have two step sign ins for both accounts- so without my phone or passwords I don't think they could scam, but still want to ask if anyone has had dealings with them?? I did research them and the parent group is registered in the state of Florida...

Personally I would not trust those. If they want your pay pal and your amazon it is not real. Generally a "free" thing is not so free. If it is free then they wouldn't need to send you the $17.97 to send to pay on Amazon. They can still set up a scammer site that is a front even though it is supposedly registered in FL.... I don't know either way, but if it was me I would not trust them .. Paypal and Amazon is an issue. You cannot buy from Amazon using paypal. Maybe that is why the payment into your paypal account? But it still sounds odd to me and I wouldn't trust it, but that is my 2 cents.

Others may think differently. Good luck whatever you decide to do!

I definitely would not purchase. There are awesome deals on Amazon or other trusted sites where you can get good art supplies for a reasonable price.

It sounds too good to be true and I wouldn't risk it... even for free art supplies.

Thanks, Christa! Good thoughts. I did NOT follow through with any transaction. They did send the money, but I returned it. I felt a check in my spirit about continuing. I asked more questions, and they did not answer for hours, which was weird because they answered me very quickly at first. I could see they were online- logged in to Facebook. I reported them to Amazon, Facebook, and Paypal. (You actually can purchase from Amazon via Paypal if you have it set up that way- done if for 10 years).

This morning someone attempted to withdraw $150.00+ from our bank account. Bank stopped it and we have constraints on the account to protect us. :D
ANYWAY, maybe this post will help someone to steer clear of them. They are Russians- [email protected] .

Yup .. I am so glad you did not go through with it. Scary stuff out there. Most of the time, Free is not Free for those kinds of things.

I do not even keep my CC logged in to Pay Pal or any site for that matter that I purchase from. On Paypal if I need to buy something I put in my CC at time of purchase and as soon as it goes through I remove the CC. I do not use my bank account for anything on line. These are scary times and I am sorry (maybe cause I grew up in NY - long island) but I do not trust anyone :) Glad the bank stopped the other transaction too.

Phew! I'm so glad the bank's restrictions worked to keep them from stealing your money. Ugh. These darn cyber criminals are so stinking sneaky!!

Glad it ended well, please change your password on PayPal. They got in the back way, and even though the bank stopped them this time because it was a large amount, better safe than sorry.

very smart thought Vivi.. I did not think of that :)

Did that on both accounts- and even changed the phone number in the two step verification- did that before I'd even posted here the first time. :)
Thing is, now there is a formal criminal investigation of them- due to our ( Hubster's interraction with our bank) - so it will end up helping others in the long run. :agree
