I've been in a bit of a funk for the last few weeks. I'm thinking maybe scrapping something outside my usual style might give me the creative nudge I need. Have you done this recently? Do you have a page that you really poured all your creativity into? Or do you have a go-to goodie in your stash that pulls you out of a rut? Any inspiration is welcome :wub

Well when I get in a slump - this also goes with the scrap-lift post, i'll go through my favorites and layouts that I found to be extraordinary or different from my own usual style I'll take their layout as a launching pad - and pull from it whatever I can. Once I start working on it, then my creative juices will flow more freely and in the end... I have a layout :) I also use a template every now and again... i might move things around add some creative title work to it by using a few different alphas... move the photo - tilt - add a bunch of stuff, then maybe take a few things away... stitch it up any where I see fit...

I usually browse galleries and try to find some challenges I want to do. I don't really scraplift, but I just need something in mind when I start my LO and usually it goes from there :)

Templates, challenges and scraplifts are my go-to moves for mojo abandonment. Challenges especially - since you said you're thinking of trying a new style to jumpstart yours. That would be fun to find a challenge that pushes you totally outside your comfort zone.

For me I look for inspiration either in a layout to lift or a challenge I want to tackle. Then I find if I can just get something on the page and finish the first layout that after that I'm good. Trying something different and scrapping with a designer than you are used to working with is a great way to get your mojo to wake up too!

Usually the thing that gets me most excited to scrap is going out and deliberately taking some photos that I really love, vs. the random snapshots that I usually shoot. Alternatively, I've used kits with themed elements as a spark for a journaling-heavy photoless page and found I really enjoy doing those. Hope you find something fun to get you out of your funk!

Definitely challenges for me. And like Kim, if I have some awesome photos, I always want to scrap - so I will take my kiddos (especially my daughters) on a shoot.

I think I may work on a challenge. Some of my surprise favourite pages have come about through one of the challenges, and spending some time in the gallery is always inspiring. Thanks for nudge, ladies :beat

Sometimes just looking around in my template stash gets the creative juices flowing.

This, plus looking at my photos helps, too. They bring the stories back in my mind. When my head connects the photo with the story, and then the template, the kit/theme isn't too far behind!

Alternatively, I spend a LOT of time looking at others' layouts and wishing I could be as awesome as they are. When that starts happening, I back away from the computer and do something else.

The last of dealing with mojo loss? Just plow through it. Just start a page with a random photo. Go through your stash, pick a kit you haven't worked with yet. It doesn't have to match. And start moving papers and elements around. This has also worked for me, and it seems to work best.
