I don't know why but I always seem to save all of my scrapping for this event. Is it going to be goin' down again next month (er uh next year? lol).

If so - whats the staples and unique products that everyone has so I can stock up!!!!

oh it is gonna be a good one! MOC5!!!
I would say...grab what you love and more! tee hee

oh yes! if you're like me, it will be here before you have packed away the christmas mess!

Staples depend on your personal style but if you haven't been here much since last Jan, you've missed a few BYOCs, full of coordinating goodies like the papers Heather showed, so I'd pick a colour scheme from previous BYOCs and buy a few bits to mix and match... and I'd also be hitting the 50% off category today (and Wednesdays) between now and Jan!

Oh yeah! MOC5 is definitely happening. The Pollys are busily writing up all the challenges and games and fun for everyone already. I can't wait!

As for staples... I'd say one of the most important things you can do to get ready is to download all your pictures and get them organized and then maybe make a list of the events/memories/pages you want to create from the picture you have. If you have a list of possible layouts you want to make when a new challenge is released you can scan your list and see what page you can make for it that captures something you already wanted to do. I find that makes it SO much easier to get started each day. :)

THEN once you have your list, you'll know what products you might need in order to finish those pages. I usually start in the BYOC sections of the store until I find the colors/theme I want to use and go from there!

I participated in MOC for the first time last January after only having become active here the last week of December. I had no TLP kits until I bought a few just for MOC. I also had no plan for what photos I wanted to scrap, though for years I've been pretty good at keeping up with processing my photos so they were ready.

I completed all 31 layouts never getting more than a couple days behind, kind of on the fly. I did get a little tired of the few kits I had to use. :) But I love almost every one of those 31 MOC layouts and enjoyed the month full of scrapping so much.

So just jump in and have fun! :D

I've always admired all the gorgeous layouts and challenges, but never tackled it myself... 2017 will be different - like the logo says 'Bring it on!' - I honestly can't wait. @michelepixels this is great advice - stay on top of things, don't let it overwhelm you and have fun.

@sarahme85 I'd take full advantage of SOSN 50% products for sure =)

so excited for it all to start! Advice is don't get behind and I'm also putting aside photos I can just grab.
I also have a separate folder that I put all my layouts into that way they are quick to grab.
this is a great designed neutral paper pack.

You could get lots of "bang for your buck" with any of the TLP collabs, too. Of Wishes, Hopes, and Dreams has had some amazing layouts come out of it. and I loved the Adventure one, too.
Any of the subscription collabs could be a source also... "Foundations" MPM, any of the M3 months where colors and words speak to you (art journaling) and a Storyteller bundle.

Oh, I love these staples!

Yes MOC5 will be awesome! And I agree that getting your photos and stories together will help. I'd start a list of things you want to scrap and maybe have those photos ready/edited/set aside. Most of the challenges are relatively flexible about your story... although some are clearly not (those are super fun b/c they take you WAY outside your comfort zone). Try to scrap every day and have fun! It'll really get you in a memory-keeping mood for 2017.

If you have been stocking up regularly on sales and BYOC, you will probably have what you need, and my experience is that there are lots of freebies or discounts to make things easy peasy.
I do have most of what's mentioned already, but I tend to buy more things like "staples", than dedicated themed kits.
And I am pretty terrible at printing, but I have a book printed for every one of my MOC years...

Isn't it exciting! It's getting so close now! As for staples....I'm the wrong person to ask....I would say....get it all! You never know what you'll need :)

Oh shopping for scrap supplies! One of my favorite things!

I'm in a stitches mode lately,

Buttons:

And paper!

So many goodies... so little time! It's almost here!

So many of my favorite staples have already been mentioned here, but there's always room for a few more!

The MPM: Foundation products are a great neutral add-on for any kind of layout. I especially love Allison Pennington's Subfloors and Valorie's Sprinkles:

I find a lot of good things in Just Jaimee's Storyteller collections, as well. I especially find that I use these tags on many, many layouts:

And these are most definitely my go-to stitches!
