When I have days where I can't seem to get inspired to create something, my fall back is always Pinterest. There are so many inspirational ideas, it just really lets my imagination run wild. So today, I was looking over a few images, and trying to put my finger on just what jumps out at me with specific pictures that I like, and I realized that it was a simple thing really...
... adding black and/or white details to create depth on a page.
Super simple. But I guess it goes back to old art lessons (when they actually had art classes in school) and about color values and contrast.
Here are some examples I found that illustrate what I'm talking about. If it doesn't make sense... imagine removing the black or white (little) details that may not even be the focal points and see what a difference it would make.
And to me, Teesha Moore is the master at this technique.
(Granted, this one uses different colors, but the small details and the difference in contrast and color are similar.)

What about you? Do you ever try little things like this to make a bigger impact on your pages? What stands out to you in images you pin or are drawn to? Can you put your finger on it? Share?
