He's a 10 pound mini-pin/Manchester Terrier/chi mix (we're not 100% sure). He was apparently abandoned at a local park for 4 hours before a neighbor of ours found him. He couldn't keep the little guy, so my hubbie reluctantly agreed to let the dog in the house. Turns out he hardly barks, knows commands, and loves to snuggle. And guess who fell in love with him? Reluctant hubby! :giggle

The vet said he's about 3-5 years old and has teeth Austin Powers would shiver at. Unfortunately, our six month puppy Baxter seems to be bullying him. It's a 25 lb super playful, smart puppy against a 10 lb mini dog!

So I'm not sure how to handle that part. :dizzy

super cute! I'm sure you two fur babies will settle in. They'll probably wind up being best friends after they work out the dominance issue.

He's adorable! Try not to let your other dog be too domineering, just watch them. Unless you (or your husband) are the true pack leader, one dog will try to dominate over the other. It might be worth a few appointments with a dog trainer to get tips on how to handle it if it looks like it might become a problem. Often it works itself out but just in case, watch them and be a strong leader when with them both and separate them if there is any bullying. How wonderful it is that you were able to take in this stray dog.

Oh my, what big ears he has. (said in my best Red Riding Hood voice) What a cutie!!!

very cute... I hate it when people abandon anything let alone a cute puppy!

Christa, that's all my husband ranted about for two days! Except for the deplorable condition of his teeth (vet says he's a 5 on a scale of 1-5 in gingivitis disease) he's in good shape. Already neutered, knows commands, including sit-up, and is well-mannered. I suspect it was the oooooooo-smelly impacted anal glands & the expensive teeth work that got him abandoned in that park!

I've been reading up on dog dominance behavior. This is not going to be an easy ride! 8-O

OMG !!! He's such a handsome boy !!!!

Go watch Caesar Milan's dog show. He has good tips on putting balance into the household.

Ooo ... I didn't know he has one too. I was referring to youtube. Or your local video rental shop.

Nevertheless, good for you !!! Happy Reading :)

He's adorable! So sad that someone would abandon him even if he did need medical or dental treatment, he could have been dropped off to a shelter or found a new home if his owners weren't able to care for him. I'm glad he's found a new family :)

They need to figure out who is higher in the chain of command in the pack. Still you or your husband need to be the alpha!

don't worry about it that little dog will be ruling the roost in no time....cause my Doxie rules my 85 lb lab LOL!
