My great big boy is perfect.

And not only is he perfect and not only could my doctor not believe how big he is, he also could not believe that he is exclusively breastfed.
Mason is up about one pound and one inch since birth - so he's now at 11 pounds even and 22 inches.

What a great shot! Awesome that he's doing so well! :)

oh wow! you definitely got some serious momma-milk going on! :p

i'm so happy everything goes well, trish!

why couldn't he believe that he was exclusively breast fed? his size? how much he's grown?

Some doctors frustrate me...sorry!!

What a handsome guy though...and so alert!! I'm sure he's just a joy to your family!

I was thinking the same thing... my exclusively breastfed boys were super puggie and huge compared to my formula fed girl who was thin and falling off the charts the wrong way and even was considered failure to thrive... it always bugs me that some drs think breastfed babies are little... our ped even called the boys buddha babies because they had so many rolls LOL...

anyways... he's soooo adorable and alert... I just want to squeeze him :wub

He's precious, Trish! I noticed in your video you had on your blog that he is one big boy! Looks very happy and healthy! :tu

lol - I have small kids normally. Ryan, who was my biggest grower, was only ever in the 60% in growth and he was formula fed. Bella and Zach, both booby babies at that age, were tiny. Plus none of them were ever a pound over at 2 weeks, they had just gotten back to birth weight then.

That is great Trish! He is soooo cute! I know you were a bit worried about the breast feeding. It must feel great to have the reassurance that things are going so well! Did I mention he is adorable! Lol!

He's a cutie! My docs always say the same thing about my kids. I think they got a little shocked when a 2 week old comes in and is the "typical" size of a lot of 2 mo olds. As far as the breastmilk goes it has less fat in it, so BF babies tend to be a bit leaner than formula fed. Also, I've read that bottle fed babies will finish a bottle even though they aren't hungry, which allows them to chunk up more that way too. None of these are guarantees as Heather pointed out, but they are trends doctors see, and doctors like trends.
