Magazines |Pad Patter 10.12

i used to buy some of our local (aussie) scrap magazines but really i decided that it's just more clutter - i like being able to return mags to the library (i just threw a bunch of junk mail into the recycle box - i like looking at shop catalogues but they just take over the kitchen bench or table or everywhere - same as magazines really or they take up real estate on the bookshelf
... i borrow recipe mags and house/garden type mags from the library - i think i've borrow every one of their scrap ones over the years...

I subscribed to a few at the beginning of the year. I have to hide them because my husband throws them away. I love to do collages (about the only paper and paste I do anymore). So I got the $5 subscriptions most of which ran out in June, but I have my magazines when I'm ready to do a collage. Reading them happens occasionally on the weekend.

I had a complete addition to magazines quite a few years ago - cooking, scrapping, The Somerset series were an expensive habit as well (but so gorgeous) - just anything really (except women's gossip magazines, I hate those with a passion!). I felt I was getting back into the habit again before Christmas so I completely gave up for 3 months this year and I now only get the occasional cooking magazine and Nat geo's travel magazines - love them.

And we also still get The Lego Magazine...

My mom looooooooves magazines so she gets my son Babybug & my daughter Spider (part of the Cricket family of kids' magazines) + she gets me Oprah. She also passes along her Women's Day, Midwest Living, Good Housekeeping, People, & EW issues when she's done with them.

The only magazine we actually buy for ourselves is Family Fun.

This is so funny. My DD needed to bring in magazines for school just last week and I could not come up with ONE in our house. My DH gets Consumer Reports but he throws them out once he reads them. I get some Pediatric mags but they are delivered to my office.

So, no magazines for us. We have plenty to read in other places!

My only magazine addiction is Artful Blogging by Somerset. I love it!!! I remember the very first time I found it and I've saved everyone. I go through it and really study it.

I love flipping through magazines! I used to subscribe to Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks, People, Rachael Ray, and Real Simple (all at different times), though now the only subscription I have is Entertainment Weekly. Our library offers magazines that we can read digitally on the Nook/Kindle, so I like to check out HGTV and Food Network magazine too.

Used to. Now, then internet has turned into my magazines. :)

My subscription to Stampington Art Journaling just ended and I pick up Somerset Digital Studio, Stampers's Sampler, Sew Somerset and Somerset Apprentice occasionally at JoAnn's and stock up when they are in the annual back issue sale. I keep every issue. ALso pick up the giant FLOW magazine when it comes out. Past subscriptions were Victoria and Do it Yourself.

i don't really read any these days. the last one i sub'd to was Click ... and i just rec'd a fundraiser packet for candy and magazines. so torn on what to do. i don't want the candy and don't really read the magazines anymore?

I don't get any to the house. Somerset digital is my favorite to know so many of the scrappers being published. I will buy one and carry it with me for weeks, I think I need to subscribe.

I used to love magazines, but I now I never read them. I do my reading online instead. We do still get the Lego magazine because we signed our boys up, but they don't even always read that anymore. At 10 and 12, they don't play with their Legos much anymore. Sniff.

Ah... Somerst magazines, I used to and still do get the %coupons off from Michaels and AC Moore. Both take each others' coupons and when the 50% or even better 55% coupons came I would get a Somerset magazine at AC Moore. Michaels didn't allow them on books/magazines and sadly a few years ago AC Moore did the same. Half of $12.95 was a good deal! I am now clearing out my stock pile of old ones but giving them to my favorite recycler who matches stuff to the right recipient/org. I'll still buy the Digital Art one or whatever it's called once in a while.

My son gets my old Economists and loves the short bite stories.
